Note:
1. Please lubricate the o-ring with silicon grease and use wrench provided to prevent leakage. you may search " whole house water filter " on YouTube, there is some video about this housing, it is very helpful if it is the first time to install it.
2. Protect filter housing from freezing.
3. This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 80 psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 60 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. this action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating.it is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 50 psi or less.
4. The rubber o-ring provides the water tight seal between the cap and the sump. it is important that the o-ring be properly SEATED IN THE GROOVE of a water leak could occur. below is more options for matched filter cartridges and similar size housing:

Some of the things I liked about this filter are that it's very simple to install and easy to change the filter. It has reinforced threaded sleeves on the inlet and Outlet ports. It has a thick canister that's crystal clear, thicker than a lot of other brands. The cogs that are molded into the outer part of the canister are thick and numerous compared to other brands. That allows for a more sturdy grip on the canister when using the canister wrench. This kit comes with the canister wrench. I also like the fact that it doesn't have any valves built in except for the air pressure relief valve on the top. Previously I had a Culligan filter that had a built-in shut off and bypass valve. That filter leaked at the center of the valve itself and sprayed everywhere. That's when it was new right out of the box. The bracket supplied with this filter is a very strong steel bracket that is easy to install. The silicone o-ring is a little thicker than most of the other brands of this size. I have owned other brands before this one. In my opinion this one threads on easier than my previous canisters. This canister system seems to be built very sturdy and with no unneeded bells, buttons or whistles. I did put a ballcock types shut off in front of the filter itself. Not having a built-in shut off valve means that if the shut-off valve ever goes bad I don't have to replace the whole filtration system. I installed this filtration system as the first in a door filter system for my home. I have a 50 micron filter as the primary filter for the water for the entire house. The second filter is also a big geekpure filter. This one is strictly for my ice maker and my cold water side of my kitchen faucet that supplies drinking my drinking water.This filter is a 5 micron filter with coconut fibers. It to give the water a pleasurable taste. I think that it works perfect for this application. I get clean filtered ice cubes, clean cold filtered water in the door of the refrigerator and clean filtered water out of the kitchen faucet. That's perfect for my coffee,tea. My 3 cats and dog love the taste of the water that comes out of the filter. I would definitely recommend this filtration system. I've had many different systems in the past and this is the best.

This is a great filter assembly. This does take the larger 4 inch by 10 inch filters with the larger center hole. Be aware that bigger filters come in a big and smaller center hole where the gasket is. This doesn't have a shut off included but does have a pressure bleed off via the red button. I had the time so I made a bypass/shut off with valves. Works absolutely flawless. I recommend!

This filter assembly looks good both online and when you get it. Mine lasted just past return date then got a crack in the housing. Seller was kind enough to refund the purchase price past the 30 day period.

UPDATE: The company reached out and is sending a blue housing that is much stronger!Just installed 2 days ago and this morning we heard a loud boom! Bottom of filter housing blew out! We don’t know what happened or why.

I hate to leave bad reviews but I have to leave a review especially if the product is not working as design. Officially this is the second time I have brought this product.. the first time it had a hair line crack after a year of installation and it was leaking water, I then brought this product again and I wake up to full blast of water flooding my basement floor. Officially I will never buy or recommend this product or any other product this company has for any of my co workers or friends. My basement was completely flooded in water and had to use my wet vac and fan and etc. Horrible. I currently had to travel to a different city to buy something ASAP since I shut off the water. Gas , time traveling and spending more money on a product when I put faith in there product. Never again!

I am a commercial Contractor and have purchased 100s of filters and for the brand quality of this filter you are not going to find a better deal hands down. I never write reviews but figured this one was worth the minute of my time to let others know

Avoid using Teflon tape alone to install this system because the teeth of the thread are too deep for regular Teflon tape. To fill the gap between threads, you have to use many layers of tape, which will make it hard to install the fitting into the port and might damage the port by excessive force used to install the fitting. Use thread sealant like RectorSeal or Hercules Pipe Thread Sealant (both can be found at your local plumbing stores) for installation. Apply generous sealant to both the male fitting threads and female port threads and wait for a day to let the sealant dry before turn the water valve on. Without enough time to dry the sealant, it may be washed out under the water pressure and cause leaks. If you can't wait for that long, please try to use the sealant and tape together. Use sealant first to fill the gaps between threads and then apply 10-20 layers of Teflon tape on top of the sealant to prevent them being washed out. The number of tapes varies depend on how much sealant you used. When it is pretty hard to turn the fitting into port by hand, but not too hard with the help of a wrench, you have enough tape. Do not over tight the threads or it might damage the port permanently. After installation, let the water in and wait for at lease 15 minutes. Whenever leak is detected, turn off the main valve immediately to avoid major water damage. Otherwise a very nice filter. Especially like the transparency of the filter cartridge casing. In addition to all the installation parts.

Après 6 mois d'utilisation le bol s'est fissuré grandement tout seul. Cela a conduit à une inondation du garage car nous étions absents. Je ne recommande pas ce produit car le bol est fragile, non fiable et dangereux car peut causer une inondation. This goes in like any big blue unit. The clear canister is nice for checking dirty filter status. I used a brass 1"-3/4" adapter to hook it up and it originally leaked. It tightened it down as much as I felt comfortable with and it continued to leak. I uninstalled, used a little extra teflon tape and the problem went away. Even then I tightened a little more than you might expect with a brass fitting. The unit has no odor and hasn't affect taste - I'm not really sure why that would be a problem for any unit. Taste is more likely affected by the cartridge that you put in it. Overall I'm happy and I would buy it again.
