I read a lot of review that the item leaks.. yea you need to use teflon tape.. I just received the unit and even with the gasket it leaked bad. I used teflon tape and it’s is resolved.. it works great as it should. Will test it for a week or 2 and see if will leak over time.

Installed this filter 28 Jan 2024. Lasted less than 2 months and the bottom section failed completely, breaking off just below the threads. Luckily, we were home and discovered it quickly, but not before the entire kitchen was flooded. It was only installed hand tight, so there's no excuse for it breaking. I contacted Geekpure customer support last week, but have yet to get a response. Don't buy this unless you want an indoor pool in your home.

I bought this kit over a year ago to replace a similar housing that came as part of my 100-GPD "classic" R.O. system from Aquatic Life. That Aquatic Life housing cracked at the threads and blew out a chunk of plastic when it was attacked by water hammer from my clothes washing machine's fast-acting solenoid valves. It was the first canister in the system (right at the supply inlet), so it took the brunt of the water hammer. I replaced it with this assembly from Geekpure. That all happened 15 months ago. Just this week, the same thing happened to the *second* canister in the system (not the one I had replaced). That means: the water hammer propagated through this Geekpure canister, through a sediment filter, through the Geekpure head, and then ruptured the Aquatic Life canister that was second in line. I initially believed that the first-in-line Geekpure housing had survived the event, but it actually did develop a few small cracks on the bottom that would weep water when pressurized, so it didn't survive well enough to remain serviceable. Still, that's a much better result than blowing a chunk of plastic out from the threads, so I still say the Geekpure beats the Aquatic Life. Needless to say, I replaced the second ruptured Aquatic Life housing with another Geekpure. I also ordered a Sioux Chief 660-GTR0 1/4"-OD mini water hammer arrestor.**TL;DR:** This Geekpure housing nearly survived a water hammer event that ruptured a filter housing *downstream* of it. Quite impressive.

Update: Company read my review contacted me and replaced the unit. Back to 3 stars. If the replacement has issues, I will update again.I used this to replace a 20+ year old housing on my RODI system for my fishtanks. These were seriously beefy housings that I can't find anywhere. Full disclosure I do have a booster pump on the system. But the segment that this filter is in has the pressure switch for said pump and it cuts off at 40 PSI (I verified the psi with pressure gauge). I use silicone grease on seals and do not over tighten the housing (ie I know how to maintain these things). So, I know over tightening is not the cause of the early failure. I like being able to see the filters, but I think I am going to switch over to the filter housings where the housing goes inside the mount not around it even though these are typically not clear plastic.

Bought Two filter housings. Nice filter housing, but it did not have a wrench. Odd size wrench. I have several filter wrenches , but all are too big for a good fit. From the product page: "INLET-OUTLET-1/4" threaded in and out fittings. 1 x Wrench in the box". No box either. Just packed in a bubble wrap bag, but no big deal. I would like to have my wrenches.EDIT: Changed Overall rating to 4 stars because Customer Service did send me a package that contained a small wrench and a large wrench that fits the housing. I would have made it 5 stars but, they did not change the Amazon page for the Quoted line above. You may not receive a wrench and the housing is smaller than than the average housing. Other wise the filter housing is a good value and seems to be very well made. I am not using it for a RO system replacement. The housing has a very light purple tint to it, but it is very clear. I definately would buy it again.

It fits perfectly the water quality association system. Very happy. I got two by mistake but I will keep the second one just in case. Happy customer

The O-Ring that comes with it is too small to stay in the groove. The replacement O-Rings with the kit are not thick enough to seal. Impossible to get a water tight seal.**EDIT** I have found a solution for the bad design. The twisting motion of tightening the lid bunches up the o-ring because of friction. By using some dish soap as lubricant on the o-ring, I am able to get a good seal. -- This is a bad design because the lid should tighten down on the o-ring with a clamp collar, not by twisting against and warping the o-ring.. I must also add they are an honorable company that has compensated me for the issues.

Everything fit as expected. Instructions were a little vague. Only select fittings were supplied, not all. Glad I could reuse the existing fittings or else I would have out of luck
