I recently acquired the CHNADKS Upgraded Personal Dosimeter, and I must say, this device has exceeded my expectations in every way possible.Accuracy and Sensitivity: The first thing that stands out is its high level of accuracy. With a detection range from 0.08uSv to 50mSv, this Geiger counter provides reliable readings for both low and high radiation environments. Its sensitivity to beta, gamma, and X-rays ensures comprehensive monitoring, which is crucial for personal safety. I tested it against known radiation sources, and the readings were consistent with what you'd expect, proving its reliability.Portability and Design: The compact, pen-like design with a clip is incredibly practical for on-the-go use. It's light enough to carry around without feeling like an extra burden but robust enough to endure outdoor conditions. The OLED screen is clear, even in low light, making it easy to read the radiation levels at a glance. Its battery life is impressive, offering up to 50 hours of standby time, which is perfect for extended monitoring sessions.User-Friendly Interface: The interface is intuitive; even if you're not well-versed in radiation detection, you'll find it easy to navigate. Setting the alarm thresholds or switching between units is straightforward, and the device responds quickly to changes in radiation levels, ensuring you're always aware of your surroundings.Alarm Features: The sound and flash alarm modes are highly effective. When the radiation levels exceed your preset threshold, the device alerts you promptly, allowing for immediate action if necessary. This feature is not only useful for personal safety but also for educational or professional purposes where quick responses are needed.Value for Money: Considering its features and performance, this dosimeter from CHNADKS is an excellent investment. It's perfect for both hobbyists interested in radiation detection and professionals needing a reliable tool for radiation monitoring in various scenarios, from home use to fieldwork. In summary, this Geiger Counter from CHNADKS is a top-quality, user-friendly, and highly portable device that I would recommend without hesitation to anyone looking to monitor radiation safely and effectively. It's a must-have for those concerned about radiation exposure or those in industries where such monitoring is crucial.

I used to work with extremely low radioactive sources in a university lab. In my later life, I became worried about possible exposure. They said I was paranoid, apparently not! This piece of Blue Apatite that I bought turns out to be moderately radioactive. Probably more so than this indicates because the radioisotope in question is either Thorium or Uranium, in this case Alpha emitters. The proof is in the pictures…you can see the dose rate of the unshielded sample…and paper attenuates the dose rate to near background…and the the glass attenuates the dose rate to about background…which indicates Alpha particles, therefore Thorium or Uranium.I’m pretty sure the average consumer doesn’t want to have a mineral sample that has Thorium or Uranium in it. What would become a real hazard if someone were to grind or cut a piece of Blue Apatite, resulting in dust that would get in the lungs. I’m pretty sure that I bought the Blue Apatite at the Rock Shop in Vacaville.I also measured my granite countertops, which are slightly above background. Granite countertops are probably the only slightly radioactive things that most people have in their homes other than the Americium in smoke detectors, of course. This particular Geiger counter is fairly useful. It’s a good value for the price. The only problem is it has relatively limited battery life. The second problem is don’t drop it. I’ve broken two that were damaged severely after they fell out of my pocket. Otherwise, it’s relatively accurate and easy to use.I’ve measured a few spikes that I attribute to it to cosmic rays. Also, the Geiger goes nuts if I’m anywhere near a dental x-ray or a medical x-ray…which indicates proper function.I’m not sure why everyone wouldn’t want to have one of these or every family at least.

I got about 30 of these for a course that I am teaching. I tested them all and compared them to each other and they are all fairly consistent. There are however some annoying problems. For example, when you change the thresholds for alarm very often they get reset to default values when you turn the device on and off.I found that if you repeat the process multiple times by saving those again and again and again, they eventually get set and get saved. This is the only reason why I didn't give it five stars.

I purchased this device to keep in my pocket throughout the day so I could track my radiation exposure, just for fun. It's a great beginner device for the price. The battery life is great and it's durable enough to hold up in my pocket with my other EDC items. I use it sometimes when I go thrift shopping to pick out old radioactive cookware and things. The only hiccup I have encountered is for some reason about a minute after the device is powered on the level will spike for a few seconds for no reason, which throws off the average a little. Great compact product!

The directions does not say what the password is for this unit and I have an over limit alarm. I can't reset it the unit because I do not know what the pre-program password is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
