Have bought two of these, just like the ones at the store. I had figured they would be dried out or whatever else. Not these, they are totally moist still, work great!

I bought retail level packs of these for a trial and was happy with the results, but the bulk packaging is far from sterile. 70% losses without any treatment. I wasted tons of time and hundreds of clones to stem rot. I tried sterilizing them with chlorine dioxide, which did make a large improvement, but still lacking with 30% losses. Ultimately I went back to rockwool (

The plugs were really unsatisfactory! They were old Squashed dry turds! Just buy them at your local Hydroponic store!

I bought both the 50-pack and the 1400-pack. The 50-pack came in a thick resealable bag and is holding up fine ... I keep it sealed and in a fairly dark place. No issues growing mold.The 1400-pack I received yesterday and the packaging was shockingly bad, considering these cost $300! You would think they would not want to run the risk of damaging such a large purchase... They basically just shoved a bunch of plugs in a thin plastic bag and tossed the bag in a box ... the bag was not even sealed!!! The box arrived crushed with the bag hanging out, open on the inside. Some of the plugs were also crushed, crumbled, and had to be thrown out, so note you will NOT receive 1400 USABLE plugs! I spent hours sorting, rebagging them and sealing them so they do not mold or dry up. So if you want this to be your full-time job for a day, buy the bulk pack. If not, I highly recommend just buying (28) 50-packs, they will arrive in better condition and save you the headache of APPROPRIATELY bagging them for storage.With that said, these work fine. I use them in my IDOO growers, though they are a very tight fit. I had to buy little shotglasses to cover them while the seeds germinate, because the plastic domes that came with my IDOO were too narrow. I have to spray multiple times daily to keep them moist as the seeds germinate, but they are much sturdier for the roots than the tiny plugs that come with Aerogardens or IDOOs, so they will hold up tall veggies like chard, kale and lettuce.They will grow some mold but every type of plug I've used does, due to the LED lights and moisture. How I manage that is I lightly spray the plug with hydrogen peroxide, wait a minute and wipe it right off.I would give these plugs 5 stars, but I took off 2 stars for the packaging on the bulk pack. The manufacturer really lacked common sense with the packaging ... which is some of the worst packaging I've seen in my life.
