The quality of the hose reel is great and it mounts easily. The problem was figuring out the fittings needed to connect the reel to the hoses. Our hose is 1/4" with a 22mm - 14mm connection, this requires a 3/8" Male to 22mm male with a 14mm inside diameter. Two of these adapters are needed. One to connect the machine to the reel and one to connect the hose to the reel. These adapters are $8 each on Amazon. The other issue is that no short length supply hose is supplied or sold. The smallest hose I found is 20' It would be nice to have a 6' to 10' supply hose from the machine to the reel and not have to use a 20' hose. I had to do a good deal of research to get the parts to make it work. It is obvious this unit is designed for use by professionals but I think there is a huge DIY homeowner market for these reels that could be tapped with a little more information on the parts needed to make this work at home. The two adapters could be included with the purchase, or listed as an option. The Machine comes with female fittings to supply the reel and to connect the hose to the reel, yet all hoses are female that require a male outlet, the male to male adapters are a must.

I received the hose real and mounted it on the cart that I have my Active 2.3 pressure washer on, got it all connected and the hose real leaked really bad right where the water comes into the base of the real where it is mounted to that piece of plywood is at. The problem is the fitting that they sent is just a standard reducer, it should have been a NPT thread going into that black pipe on thr real, I had to go to my local hardware store and get the correct fitting that was a NTP thread going into the black pipe on the real. I placed the fitting that was sent with the real on top so you can see that it is just a standard thread and there is no way it could seal up, so no water would leak out, it was just spraying water all over the place with just the water turned on. Once I got the NPT fitting it worked fine. On their site it listes that fitting as being a NPT fitting. So if you buy this pressure washer hose real check to make sure you have the correct fitting for that connection, your local hardware store will have it. Other then that I love the 100 ft hose real, no more having to deal with my 60 ft pressure hose, I just simply wind it up on the real.

I bought this for a 50 foot hose for my electric AR Blue Clean pressure washer. I agree the instructions are close to non-existent but I watched videos and read all the reviews here. Most people put a loop of hose outside the reel, some added a 90 degree fitting to make that easier. I think the product is designed to be attached as I show in the photos. I turned the included already attached 90 degree fitting so it pointed toward the opening. That way a hose can be directly mounted to it, no awkward loop outside the reel with a tight bend in it needed.I got this idea from the picture of the reel in the directions that showed this right angle fitting pointing toward the hole. One reviewer mentioned that it was 'glued', there was some solvent on the joint, it turned pretty easily with a large crescent wrench.I decided to use my 4 foot feed hose to hook permanently to the 90 degree fitting and on the distal end of that put on a male 3/8 inch quick connect plug. Then I attached the 50 foot long hose to that with the quick connect female that was on the hose. I did this so that if I need to use the pressure washer away from the hose reel then the blue 50 foot hose simply disconnects for travel. The hose reel is designed to mount to a cart or directly to the pressure washer. For my purposes I wanted to mount it to the wall, using the existing mounting plate that would have made the hose unwind at a 90 degree angle to the driveway where I use it. For that reason I made a little shelf that I mounted the reel to, that worked great.

1. I added this reel to an old GENERAC pressure washer, (PW) that I have had for a long time. The reel was mounted to the back handle of the PW using the bracket and 4 mounting bolts provided. The one problem that I had with the reel mounting was that no matter how much I tightened the 4 bolts the reel continued to swivel towards the front of the PW.To solve the problem I drilled and tapped a hole through the mounting bracket and into one sided of the PW handle to keep it from swiveling from front to back (see photo)2. Attaching the feed hose from the PW pump to the reel input was fairly straight forward. I used a 4 ft PW hose with one male 3/8 inch non swivel connector and a 3/8 inch swivel connector at the reel input end.The non swivel end was attached to the pump output using a 3/8" female pipe thread (fpt) to PW output M22 connector. The reel input end was attached by directly threading the 3/8 inch swivel hose male pipe thread (mpt) into the reel 3/8 inch fpt.3. The reel output connection was accomplished by using a 2 ft PW hose with one mpt 3/8 inch non swivel connector at the side reel output connection. The 2 foot hose was used because of kinking problems with the 100 ft 1/4 inch output hose.4. The other end of the 2ft output hose was connected to the 100 ft 1/4 in output hose by using a 3/8 inch fpt to 1/4 fpt adapter. As can be seen the 100 ft 1/4 inch output hose fits the 100 ft reel with room to spare

I used mine for about a year, then after that I stopped because the handle broke. I got tired of winding it with my hands instead of the handle. More of a hassle than helpful. You get what you pay for.
