I’ve been fighting trying to fix a stud on my car tie rod end for 2 weekends. 15 minutes with this thing and I was able the thread on a nut no problem. I tried a die before to clean it up and it just wanted to cross thread. This was easy and fast! Wish I bought one sooner.

Not sharp really. Decent for cleaning off old red loctite but don’t expect to be retreading bolts with this.

I have an old Moen faucet in my Airstream trailer that the wife really loves. It was in need of repairs and I could purchase all of the parts except the original brass and copper base. The threads that the side sprayer connected to were stripped, so I couldn't get the nut on, which holds the whole thing to the counter, nor screw on the side sprayer connection.I had never heard of a thread file before but decided to try it for the repair. It's a good solid tool, very well made.It took a lot of filing and bending the water pipes out of the way but finally the new nut went onto the threads. When filing you want to use the thread count on the file that matches the threads to be filed. Count the number of threads in an inch and that's the number you match to the file. File in the direction of the threads (not across) and rotate around the threads, trying to thread a new nut as you go; don't force it. Eventually you'll have the threads cleaned/sharpened and the nut will go on easily.There are metric files as well as standard pitches. Very pleased and it's good addition to my tool box

Just what you need to dress up the threads on a wheel stud after dropping a heave wheel on a Lug stud and damaging the thread. It is an easy repair if you take your time and beats the living daylights out of disassembling the whole thing to replace a single stud. Make sure you get the correct pitch for your vehicles!Very inexpensive and you'll be glad you have them. They are paid for with just one use!

These are great for those times when you are working on something and need to fix threads in a pinch. I like that I don't have to carry around a tap kit.

Seems to do the job. Way cheaper then nu-thread and after a quick wash they look better too. Nice add to the tool box or vehicle tool bag.

Es una herramienta de poco uso. Pero no debe de faltar en tu caja de herramienta o en el taller. La use para reparar la cuerda de un armadura de una licuadora y corrigió sin problema la rosca que estaba barrida. La recomiendo.

i had a bmx rear wheel that had some crushed threads along the AXLE, and this was preventing some nuts/bolts from coming off the axle. I used the 1mm side of the file and was able to fix the crushed threads within 10 minutes. This tool was perfect for the job!

I got this thread file to fix a wheel bolt on my car. It took me 3 mins to file back the threads and put back the lug nut. Well built and easy to use. A very useful tool!
