This contour/profile gauge is very useful!! I have used so far it to fit carpet tiles around the doors and trim by my back door - it made the job so much easier and more precise! This gauge is a good length (some of the other gauges are too short for my needs). Overall, I highly recommend this product, as it seems to be of a very good quality. This product is the cat’s meow! Definitely would recommend this for all of the carpenter/DIY folks out there, as well as the pros. Haven’t had one issue with it, despite it being plastic too! The locking mechanism especially is durable as heck! 5/5 Would buy again!

Minus 1 start because of magnets on back. I prefer if it did not have magnets. But if they are attached make them strong enough to hold this to a metal object. A metal slider would be better as to to not wear out on the back. Plastic pins work great. You can always push the pins into place from the other side if you are concerned about marking the wall. The lock works great. Very happy with tool.

I got this to help with corners and door jambs for a flooring project. This works great to get the angles and edges right. It has a sharp edge that you put on the ground so you can trace easily on the wood you are cutting. This was perfect for my project!

Not as easy to use as the advertisements or product displays make it. It definitely works but not as easy as just sliding it up to a contoured surface and transferring it over.When placing it against a contoured surface, some of the strips slide along with the other ones, thus forcing you to manually push them into the right contour for proper contour tracing. This happens very often, making it a much slower process than you'd expect.Also when tracing, sometimes the strips slide out of place.Basically, overall, the individual strips need more independent stronger resistance, which would solve both of the above problems.It's definitely usable. Just not magically.
