How well these white charcoal pencils work depends on the drawing paper you use them on. No matter what white chalk I use, how well it works depends mainly on the type of paper I draw on. Using it on good-quality pastel or charcoal paper and tinted gray or brown paper is best.

This compressed charcoal is so hard that it scratches paper and does not work! Purchased for my AP Studio class and wasted my $! So disappointed!!! I’m an art teacher - I know my art supplies! Thumbs DOWN!

Not mention the bad quality of the chalks and size smaller than I expected that cost pretty expensive. Those arrived broke too.

I ordered these white charcoal sticks to add to my collection of supplies. They were a great buy and the size of the stick is a little smaller so it is easier to handle in my opinion. I would recommend these to anyone that does Charcoal Sketching.
