My electrician requested I purchase this as he has installing a transfer switch to my electrical box so I can directly plug in my generator. This piece prevents the use of a generator unless the entire power is off to your home.10/10

Very easy to install make sure you order the proper one for your load center this will meet city codes for a Interlock system. Check City codes and regulation for outdoor generators. distance from home, wire gauge circuit breaker install.

Electrician here. These safety measures are a must. If one is adding a generator inlet to one's electrical panel and that panel is normally powered by other means, get one of these. Get the RIGHT one of these. Accidents happen. If it can go wrong, it will. These truisms are clichés for a reason.This device prevents a great deal of user error and fault from even being possible, let alone happening."Idiot-Proof" is the term used in the field. That isn't all though.Power goes out. Okay. No Problem. Fire up the generator. Plug it into the panel's generator inlet box. Bingo, bango, boingo, Bob's your uncle. Temporary power is now available without extension cords laying all over the house and yard. Wonderful. Did you turn OFF the main breaker? I think so. All of a sudden, power is restored momentarily and BANG.Coulda been avoided.Anyway, if one is looking at reviews for this product, one is either an electrician, or in possession of enough common sense to want this peace of mind, or, has experienced the afore mentioned BANG and has learned from the experience. Here it is. Get the right model.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this generator interlock kit. It’s heavy gauge aluminum and includes everything to install it minus the drill. All stickers are great quality and well printed. Awesome kit!
