Great to mark things so you can find them

To make sure I can quickly circulate through my band room without ending up as an internet celebrity for tripping over a student, I mark where chairs need to be set within the room (my band has grown, but the room hasn't, so this got more important this year!). In the past, I've tried duct tape (leaves residue) and masking tape (doesn't stick well to carpet). If I had tile floors, electrical tape is probably a cheaper option, but not in my current carpeted room. Gaffer's tape to the rescue! To not waste, I use about a 1" strip where I want each front leg of the chairs, then longer strips to mark the outside of the rows as well as the placement of our percussion instruments--xylophones, marimbas, etc... I've used about one third of a roll for 35 chairs & instruments, and after a week, none of them have lifted. I will be pulling it up after 2 months and replacing it just to make sure it doesn't leave any residue long-term (I did have some similar tape I used to hold down cables that left really bad residue on some rubber baseboard after about 6 months). If I see any problems at 2 months, I'll be sure to update. The one challenge I had with this particular roll is that it gummed up a bit on one edge, and so one lengthwise thread on the edge kept sticking to the roll rather than to the layer of tape I was removing, so that edge ended up a bit frayed. Not a huge issue for something that goes on the floor, but a bit of a nuisance.

I am used to the thick 2 inch gaffe and saw this and its sooo useful for thin line stuffmarking out boxes etc, labeling small stuff, just adding visibility without such thick expensive tape

Used this for both spike on stage as well as board tape to a mixer. Clear and visible in both applications, and then removed without any residue or fuss. I'm happy, and you will be, too!

This is very bright gaffer tape, but it is not the quality one would hope for. It isn't easy to rip off a piece cleanly, it always stretched and tears. Sicors are needed. It's also doesn't have the hold I'm used to. LEft a piece as a marker on a hidden corner, and the wind blew it off within minutes. That doesn't happen with good-quality tape.

Better adhesion than the KIWIHUB branded gaffer tape also distributed through Amazon. Not professional quality, yet good enough for use in temporary labels and marking clean surfaces.

This spike tape worked great for my recent project. It had a solid adhesive that held up well, even on uneven surfaces, and it left no residue when removed. The neon green color was vivid and easy to spot, which made marking positions on stage super efficient. I liked how easy it was to tear by hand, so I didn't need scissors on the go. Overall, it was a reliable, hassle-free option for my needs.

I usually use a 2 inch wide gaffer's tape when I'm taping cords down and it usually does a good job. This narrow 1/2 inch wide tape really won't work well for me there. I got this tape because the color was bright and most gaffer tape is very durable so I wanted to try it out.I found that this tape works extremely well at marking items. The color is eye catching and the tape is very rugged. It takes ink well without smudging or smearing and it sticks so good. It is somewhat difficult to tear so I did opt for a cutting blade to initialize the cut.I am not a gaffing expert but, for me, using this tape for labels on cans, totes, etc. is really where it shines. Good quality tape. Good value.
