Hot water. Doesn't last for long but it's hard to expect it to. Would be nice if the spray head included an on/off squeeze so you could control water flow without having to turn the know on base.

The first thing to say is to be patient once you put it together because it took about 24 hours on a cloudy day for the water to warm up and you can't see the water in the base. But, once it does, it works as promised. You can easily mix cold tap water with the knob as long as your hose is on.Assembly is a bit tricky... The directions are in a very very small font because they have it all on one sheet in a half dozen languages. We used a YouTube link that an individual posted and one from the company. Between the two videos and the pictures on the instructions, we were able to put it together in about an hour with two people. If the instructions were clearer, it probably would have taken 15 minutes. I tried posting the video link we used, but Amazon doesn't allow that. So, just search on the name of your product on YouTube. The colored piece (mine is teal) is a bit tricky to get the screws to line us, but since it's only for decoration, it's not a deal breaker. This is great to get people to wash off before and after the pool, and even when doing gardening. It's well worth the money -- especially because it's portable so you don't need to anchor it.

I have mixed thoughts about this unit, but I am giving it a couple weeks to decide if I want to keep it, or return it.The Amazon description is fair, no lies in it. They should add however that per the sticker on the base you need to turn off the water supply when not in use- if you fail to do so the "Inlet pressure regulator with safety valve" on the bottom releases every 15-20 seconds due to over pressure, and bleeds out some water (small amount)- a nonstop leak effectively. By closing the water valve on the house, and barely cracking it open, you can reduce how often it happens- but it still happens.Lesson being, fill it, turn off the water, let it sit and heat, barely open the water supply valve when you want to use it- and turn it off again at the end of the day. It doesn't bleed off a large volume, but it'll add up if left on all the time.Step-6 on their instructions is a small tangled diagram that is confusing- too small to easily comprehend. Don't miss installing the rubber O-ring between the 2 parts of the column, that's about all step-6 is trying to convey. The included hose blew apart on me (see picture), I had left the water pressure on full (not yet knowing the above), and before going to bed went to lock the outside door and heard the water gushing- the hose had blown off of the factory installed fitting, and the fitting left on the water faucet with the roughly 1/4" diameter opening turned into a high pressure water cannon- the entire pool room was soaking wet from the splashing. I think I caught it soon after failure, fortunately. Used my own heavy duty hose after that.I am giving the unit a couple weeks to see how it goes.... it seems well thought out, it will do what we need, it does make warm water quickly, the shower head is great in that it provides an excellent spray utilizing little water.Just have to remember to open and close the water supply valve, and NEVER allow full house pressure (46 pounds in my case) to be applied with it turned off.

We bought one of these from Leslies two seasons ago and it sat outside year round. This year I turned the hose on and it sprang off my the ground and sounded like a tire exploding. I failed to read the directions stating to only use 1/2 or so faucet pressure. In English that means only open the faucet up a twist or so but not all the way. Darn thing is made in Italy where water pressure must only be 20-30 PSI… my American 65 PSI hose faucet blew up the water basin that holds water as it heats up in sunlight. This our second one. Pricy but a nifty little thing to have to rinse off out of the pool because we have a salt water pool. So three stars for the price. Highly useful and convenient to have poolside and water gets quite warm and comfortable within about 30-45 minutes for a rinse. But please design the thing with a pressure valve or something so it does not explode after only 1-2 seasons of use at standard US plumbing pressures of 60-80 PSI
