We changed out all our switches to this new square style and these were very easy to install. The screw posts are clearly marked and they work perfectly.

I added a 20amp circuit to my unfinished basement for a refrigerator unit. The instructions are clear as to how to connect this outlet and warn that the GFI won't function if connected improperly. After installation, I used my GFI tester and the GFI tripped as it should.My only quibble is that the screws for the wire connection are a bit short for the way I am accustomed to connecting wires. Maybe the times have changed and this is the way it should be. I'm used to being able to hook the wire around the screw so it is secure. With this GFCI Outlet 20 Amp, I can only insert the wire straight and then tighten the screw. A couple of clamps complete the securing of the wire. When I gave an experimental tug on the wires, each proved very snug.So, maybe I'm penalizing a star for no reason. I was frustrated by making the connections. Now that I know how it works, it should be no problem using these outlets again in the future.20amp GFIs are a bit hard to find. Aside from my puzzle with the first installation, I think this is a very good quality GFI outlet. I plan to use it again in the future.

Outlet began buzzing loudly and stopped working after being on and powered for about 20 mins. Outlet smelled burnt. It was installed correctly. I will be returning all of them and go crawling back to leviton.
