These spools seem identical to the single one I purchased at a large home improvement store for the same price as this whole 10 pack. Great deal! It is very important to install these into the weed eater without releasing the tension in the string. If the tension is released, the winding will become disorderly. Then the string will hang up, break off, and require frustrating re-threading over and over until the spool is finished (prematurely).

I was shocked that this was able to last longer than the actual Black and Decker string. For a while now, my father did not want to purchase this type of string from out local hardware store because of the price and we used a manual string and loaded it into the feed. Now, after looking for something to make the process less of a hassle, I found this gem of an item. It's quite durable and able to cut quite well with our GH3000. It was also a perfect fit too! I recommend it if you have a GH3000; it even comes at a great price for his bundle compared to the $20, singular, brand name at the hardware store.

These are about 90% as good as Black & Decker but you get 4 spools for the price of one name brand spool. The only difference I can tell is maybe how they’re wound. Just be careful not to let one unwind and they work fine.

I was having a very hard time finding the Black and Decker version of the replacement spools. These are a much better price, they fit perfectly in the string trimmer and I am so glad to have enough spools from my order to not to have to hassle with getting more replacement line the rest of the summer.

This is obviously the less expensive, generic version of the B&D name brand refill. I'm an experienced DIY-er and handyman and thought it would be worth it to get 10 refills for the price of 1, but man was I wrong. So far, every single one failed. The spool itself is fine, it's the line that's the problem. The glue that keeps the line tamped down is too strong causing the line to snap. Once the glue comes loose the entire roll comes loose, resulting in tangling and line snapping. The line itself is much more brittle and snaps easily. It's also not as strong on stubborn weeds and breaks easily. It takes me 4-5 times the amount of time to trim my very small lawn compared to just using the B&D version. Very frustrating. The amount of time I've spent trying to re-spool and secure the line is unacceptable. I feel like the main character in one of those old As Seen on TV commercials where it shows the black and white footage of someone struggling to figure out a problem.

purchased because the original spool was broken. these are easy drop in replacements. no more winding the cord on the spool.
