I know that strings are very personable to the guitar player. Perhaps I can offer some insights. These strings are very consistent as far as their ability to be intonated. I am primarily an acoustic player. I usually use mediums or lights with my acoustics these strings for some reason play very comfortably when I switched to electric. They are good quality. They are consistent from one set to another. They have relatively good durability. And the sound is amazing. I have been playing since I was 15 years old. I am 58 now. Love these strings.

Only downside; They did not make me play like DG. But other than that you get a great tonal range from these strings especially if you're using on a Fender Stratocaster.I use them on my American Professional II Stratocaster and I really like the feel and quality especially when bending... Again these won't make you play like DG but hey, what else can???

Like the guitarist and front man of Pink Floyd these strings are wonderful. Now if I could play like him

Been using a set of 10s for about two months. I bought these mainly because of the price, the name David Gilmour, and also because I wanted to try GHS strings. I bought 10s although I usually use 9s from another brand. These seem like very good quality strings. Tone is fine. Have had some problems with strings binding in the nut but I think it's because the nut was cut for 9s and it's not a problem with the strings themselves. They hold tune well. They also seem to resist corrosion better than some other well known brands.I generally prefer 9s for bending but haven't had problems bending with these (other than binding in the nut which is a nut problem and not a string problem). Still I'd be hesitant to recommend these 10s for a blues based player whose bread and butter is bends.

I can definitely see what Gilmour would use this particular set, they have such a smooth bend, and a crisp tone that sustains for a long time. I was just looking for a set for my new HSS strat, and David Gilmour's name sold me on this one. I've bought 5 packs of these now, I definitely like them. One bad thing, they seem to wear out a little quicker than other strings and loose that super crisp tone faster than I like. They're cheap though, so you'll have to weigh out if that's worth it yourself!

I was looking for something like this to tune my E string down to a D without as much flop as my .46 E on my standard set of 10’s. Much better for sure with the .48 on the 6th string.

Silky is the word that comes to mind when I play these strings. These blue pack strings are best for passive pickups (Gilmours' black strat ) and the red pack strings are for Gilmour active pickups like his red stratthat is my understanding at least. These blue pack strings are full of tone and do come alive when you get on it. In contrast, when I play Fender strings,I think of the word chirpy, which is nice too. These blue pack strings are silky and lush,a nice variety to have, but i blab on.

I hadn't ever used GHS electric before, and not in this gauge. I had started using GHS about 40 years ago though in acoustic strings. Anyway, I wanted to try something different on my American Deluxe Strat. I must admit I was really impressed with these strings. The offset sizing of the strings are different compared to what I'm used to, but very comfortable. Gilmour started using these in 79. The gauges of the strings are 0.10 -0.12 -0.16 - .0.28 -0 38 - 0.48. He uses this size on his Strat . Anyway, they bend well, and have a good bright sound. They are light enough to bend, and stiff enough to chord and pick. I've had a set on mine now about a month and played daily, and haven't needed to change them yet. And you sure can't beat the price. According to the package, it says Gilmour uses GHS on his Les Paul too, in gauges .10.5, .13, .17, .30, .40, .50.. I haven't tried them on my LP yet.. But I will, and will post a review when I do.. Likewise when I try them on my PRS. Already have them on my Telecaster. If you haven't tried these, give them a shot. For the price, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I wasn't. And just FYI, I posted a review on the GHS Bright Bronze acoustic. They sure made a difference on my Taylors..

Recomendadas y ademas buen precio

This is the second string set that has made me realised that how much of an impact gauge can make on your playing. The first was daddario flat wounds, those make you play Jazz. However, Gilmour’s boomers are excellent for playing melodic rock solos. Instantly you sound like David Gilmour, Eric Clapton and the sorts. G is unwounded thus soft to bend and has a sharp tone. Gives a nice bell tone on a strat. The top 3 strings e,a,d seem rigid when you come up from playing the bottom 3 g,b,E. The overall strum sounds balanced with a slightly heavy base notes and relatively shrill high notes without much of mids. Which somehow sounds clear and crisp. One thing I am sure of is these are going to be rusty very soon.
