we have a few products from giraffe tools and they're all great. This is no exception.I hesitated a bit on the purchase because it's a bit of a premium over some competitors. But, like every other product I've gotten from giraffe, once I ordered it the install was easy, the product design is clean and simple, and it works great. - I'd buy this with confidence again if I had a similar need elsewhere.

I have had even the best hoses fail and break apart at the ends near the connectors. Bend restricters in ads made the hose look cool, robust, and durable, I think these guys did it to possibly increase sales. (Which it did , actually...) You think you got that extra grip and protection to extend the life of the hose, and it isn't there. I would probably opted for other products if I had know. I was debating on if it is worth the hassle of returning, but as I write this I get a little madder and realize if no one holds vendor accountable because of the hassle, then vendors will just keep doing it.This may or may not change your mind. But add this to the other issues people have listed, tally it all before you decide.

I spent a lot of time researching all of the types of retractable air hose reels before I selected the Giraffe. The product is well designed and works as expected. I like the 180 deg. swing feature so it sits nicely against the wall when not in use. The hose pulls out with little effort and stops at any point you choose. The retraction mechanism does its job to keep the hose from stacking up and interfering with the case. I was overall impressed with the quality of the package. I would buy it again.

My previous review of "cheap plastic" may have been a little hasty. When I received my reel the belt that transverses the hose guide was off the track due to a broken wheel and cause major issues. Apparently shipping damage. Giraffe reached out to me a couple times to resolve the issue. The customer service from Grace was exemplary and exceeded my expectations. I haven't seen real customer service like this in years. The replacement unit does exactly what it should and is of good quality. I put it though the paces and I'm happy. Thanks Grace!

I’ve had this for about a week. Installation was quick and easy. One thing to note is that the hose doesn’t want to retract fully unless you bleed the air from the hose. Apparently when there’s air pressure in the hose it’s diameter increases just enough to keep it from retracting fully. That I can live with. However, the metal crimp where the hose attaches to the metal end have up the ship after 3-4 uses. Seriously? You can’t crimp a friggin hose? I had to make a field repair to finish the job. Total fail on the crimp guys. Buyer beware.

As usual I am being asked to rate something has just recently been delivered and installed. So the rating must be based on very limited usage. A more valid rating would be helpful if it were farther down the line. That being said the hose real works well, seems sturdy and was east to install. My application was a bit of a challenge but no fault of the product. The price for the reel was very good.

I chose this retractable Air Hose Reel from Giraffe because the mount and hinge appear to be thicker and a bit beefier than others. It mounted easily and pivots well and the reel can be released from the mounting. The retraction mechanism is predictable and responsive to touch when handled with care. The hose clamp fitting is made of crimped sheet brass but released the 3/8ths inch exit fitting after a few days while stowed at 100 psi. overall the hose looks comparable to a hose I have had for years. Giraffe promptly offered a replacement when contacted.

Nice and compact product.It is let down a bit by the socket which is not deep enough (short by about 1cm) to be able to rotate flat against the wall.

I hooked up the Giraffe air hose to the compressor @150PSI for the first time and approx 10min later the coupler blew off and almost killed me! After further investigation the crimp that holds the nipple on the end of the airline was not crimped enough as the entire nipple and coupler blew out!!!

All in all it seems okay , I have only used it once so far but one thing I have noticed is the recoil system is plastic and very cheap . The last 4 ft of hose needs to be manual pushed in as it doesn’t recoil properly
