The Gladiator 48-Inch Solid Shelf can be easily hung and relocated on Gladiator Wall Systems as your storage needs change without the use of tools. The 48-Inch wide x 2.5-Inch high x 12-Inch deep solid shelf holds heavy items and has a weight capacity rating of 50-Pounds per shelf, based on lab test of 200-Pounds per shelf. It is great for storing grass seed, fertilizer, gardening tools and frequently used items up off the floor and within easy reach.

Fantastic product. Was surprised to see how heavy duty it is, and the finish is actually quite attractive. Much higher quality than I expected. I attached them to Geartracks (not Gearwall panels) and unlike some of the other comments I saw, they are rock solid and don't bow at all with even a fair amount of weight on them. My Geartracks are secured through drywall into studs with 2 1/2" torx screws (not the Gladiator ones) and I get the feeling the wall would fall down before the tracks would come off. So perhaps the other reviewer's installation was different and affected the stability, but this product is fantastic for me.Yes it's a bit pricey, but it's serious quality.

As with a few of the other reviews - the edges were bent in a little from shipping. I'm guessing if I bought it at a store the same damage would be there... Less than a minute with a pair of pliers, it was fine. The top and bottom flange are full length, dead straight steel. Most walls aren't straight and the track will form to fit the bows and valleys. Be ready for some resistance getting this shelf fully seated and make sure the track is solidly mounted into framing. I ended up starting one end and using a combination of a scrap block, 12" tire lever and a dead blow hammer to walk it into place. It's loaded up, looks great, and is doing its job.

I personally love the Gladiator GarageWorks products, I use them not only in my garage, but the laundry room, storage room, etc. This shelf is VERY solidly built and if you already have the rail system installed, takes about 10 seconds to install. It took longer to unpack it than it did to put it up! It is sturdy and I have no doubts about it holding it's stated weight provided you have correctly installed the rail system. As a bonus, the thing just looks good. A nice finish and it blends well with all their other products.The only downside is the price. For about $50 a shelf, it can get very expensive to use these. I have been trying to use the cheaper 2ft wire ones where I can but they don't even compare to this one. Would be a five star product if only they were a bit cheaper in price.

Fits great in the track and matches my other Gladiator pieces. Much more sturdy than the wire shelf from Gladiator that I replaced. The only downside is that it is the same width as their 48" track pieces so you cannot install the end caps if you are only using 1 wall section.

Fits and have had no sagging, loss of shape or integrity in 2 years. great shelf. Is being used for lawn and automotive liquids in bottles, so has not been shy in holding weight. My rail is obviously mounted to studs.

Went with Gladiator for garage system so I'm basically now stuck with their accessories. Some are better than others. But I will say that at this price point - I've been pretty disappointed. Shelving feels sort of flimsy and I had to manipulate parts with pliers just to get it to sit level. Is it horrible. No. But if you're dropping $500 - $1000 on a garage system, it better be super high quality. Side note - beware their return policy. They're not all that easy to deal with and charge re-stocking and shipping fees.

My fiance and I bought a new house a few months ago. Or, as she likes to say it, I bought a garage with a house attached. In getting my garage all set up, I purchased the Gladiator GarageWorks rail system and a few of these shelves. These are great build quality and work like a charm!

I really do like the metal shelves as I now have 8 of them between my shop and garage. I have some of the wire shelves also which are ok but the solid metal ones are much nicer.

The shelf does its job for light items only. It is better than the wire shelf, but not strong enough for heavy items.
