I am 5' 11" tall and weight around 190lbs. I ordered the size 5 and they fit perfectly no need to have them altered. These pants are somewhat thicker than traditional karate training pants, around the thickness of a traditional Judo training Gi material. The construction of the pants are exactly like the traditional karate training pant with the extra material in the crotch area to allow for more range in movement and with the extra material in the legs allowing for baggy or "roomie" pants when worn. Before I purchased I read the reviews and one stated that the pants would not allow kicking over waist high, I can assure you this is not the case these pants are extremely comfortable and allow for full range movement even up to a full split. The only thing about the pants that goes away from the traditional construction of karate pants is the back pocket which is a welcome addition and makes these pants wearable for normal gym use as well. The other major complaint dealt with the black sewn in brand patch on the front of the pants, this is a matter of taste but I find it makes the pant more fashionable if you do want to use them in the gym for weight lifting or exercise classes that are not martial art based. Other than looks though the patch does not hinder the use of the pant while exercising or stretching.I gave these pants a full five star rating because they are everything a karate pant should be but improved by being made with thicker yet breathable material (55% cotton, 45%polyester) and a back pocket. I have to admit as an added bonus the pants just simply look very nice when worn, so as far as workout clothing goes they are a tough pant that will last made with plenty of room to stretch with for martial arts and fashionable enough to use in the gym as well - 5 stars.

The Proforce gladiator combat karate pants were purchased for my teen son 5 months ago and have held up very well when considering usage and washing weekly. He is 5’10” 190lbs and they fit him comfortably. The only issue was the pants were too long for him so they were shortened. They are quality stitched and the material is very durable. They are constructed in a way with extra material for making those high kicks with ease. These are better quality pants than the original Proforce pants that came with his gi top from the dojo.

They seem to be well made. They fit at the waist. Now I just have to get them hemmed. One thing about all Martial Arts uniforms they should change though, make the size charts so we westerners can understand them. Instead of size "0" up to whatever, describe them by the waist sizes at least.

These are extremely comfortable, lightweight, and well stitched. I bought them for comfortable workout and yoga pants. The material is not "cheap" or paper-thin. I'm 5,11", 165 lbs. I ordered a size #5. I bought a size larger than the chart suggested based on reviews and the estimation was perfect in my case.My waist is 32-33 inches, and these fit perfectly in the waist without any use of the drawstring, the drawstring is on the inside. The length is a bit long, which I like. yet these did not come with a pocket of any kind....strange, other than that, I really like them!

Yah it has a pocket! I was scared since some reviews said it didn't, but mine did. A friend I train with actually recommended these since I made a comment about the pocket. I ordered a size 3, but at 145 lbs I wasn't sure if size 2 was better, but I'm glad I went with size 3 as I do not like a tight fit. At 5'6'' I find the length is perfect. Overall it is good quality, the material is just the right thickness and I really do prefer the elastic waist with drawstring, and I like that the string is black too. As another reviewer pointed out there was a white fabric tag on the front with the brand logo tag, but I was able to carefully remove it without any issue and it looks better without it, of course. They feel stiff at first but all new gi gear I've used does at first until you break them it. I'd say great overall pants for martial arts.
