Great budget friendly Dana dolly! I’ve used it on several sets to get those smooth cinematic shots! Perfect for commercial filmmaking or low budget indie films!

This seems like a great deal until you try and use the product on a shoot. I'll just list the problems I have with it below. Not in any particular order.1. Supplied track is nice but when put into use the section where they screw together creates a noticeable bump in the footage that makes them unusable. I replaced mine with poles from homedepot.2. The wheels all have different spinning speeds, even with adjustments the wheel bearings have different speeds. I'm sure you could replace the bearings with higher quality ones.3. Once the wheels are locked into place some wheels don't even touch the rail. There is a bit of flex on the wheel locks so when a slower wheel touches a rail it makes the entire speed of the movement inconsistent especially is slow small moves.4. The wheels are made from a cheap plastic, they make quite a bit of noise. Using pledge will be your friend.Honesty wish I could get my money back. Tried to use it on two separate shoots and made excuses each time for it but after the second shoot I am giving up on it.I wish someone wrote a similar review before I bought it.

As some of the other reviews have mentioned there is no built in baby/junior pin adapter, there are some plastic parts on the track ends, and the rails came a bit scuffed. That said, this is basically a dana at a fraction of the cost. The rails are super lightweight, which make loading into a location shoot a breeze. To make setup faster, we keep the dolly in a spare camera backpack so we can leave the wheels attached. This also gives us a place to store a fluid head. In just a few weeks, this has become an essential part of our studio's kit, and had held up to some unique rigging situations (cine cam mounted sideways for a 9x16 social story shoot). At $300, the minor drawbacks aren't enough to knock off a star from the rating, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants the capability of a dana in a lighter, cheaper package.

This is a poor man's Dana Dolly and as such it comes with limitations.Although haven't used it for a shoot yet, I tested it with my Sony FS5, and it seems extremely smooth. There is a bit of sound from the wheels on the aluminum tubing, which I hope will go away when I test this with longer steel tubes. The aluminum tubes arrived with lots of scuff marks, which don't seem to effect performance. I suspect these aluminum tubes will dent easily in the flimsy travel case (cheap construction and zero reinforcement or protective padding). The biggest drawback to this is the lack of proper support for use with heavy duty stands. Tripods will work up to a point, but don't offer the support that a C-stand can for heavy camera rigs. The supplied 1/4x20 and 3/8" threaded holes require additional hardware to adapt to a C-stand.The supplied 3/8" bolt for attaching video heads is barely long enough, so I will have to source one at a hardware store. How hard would it be to supply a proper length bolt? The wheels have to be installed, and like all cheap video products these days, the included case is not large enough to pack the assembled dolly truck once wheels are installed. Even fitting just the tubes and connecting bars is a very tight fit. No doubt, this case will not last long and I will have to invest in a Pelican style case to protect the aluminum tubes. I realize companies use cases as small as possible to save on shipping cost, but the end result are cases that are essentially useless. (FWIW, I have 3 tripod cases that are too small to accommodate an attached video head!)If the case was able to fit the assembled truck I'd give this 5 stars. If it included proper grip hardware to attach to a C-stand, I'd give this SIX stars! Meh...we get what we pay for!

Total waste of time waiting for this product to arrive and when it did arrive, I found that it did not come with tripods to hold it up. The pictures and videos are deceiving people into thinking the tripods come with the purchase but they do not. So where am I supposed to purchase tripods for this product? These tripods are special items and I have been unable to find any. Totally deceiving the public.

After examining sliders for close to a year, I found that for larger cameras and more creative flexibility, that "dolly" type is the way to go in my productions. I use my motorized jib head and a baby [homemade] jib on the dolly. It is rated for 50lbs on the tripod/light stand mounts and 100lbs on the ground/flat fully supported. The Glide Gear is probably the most affordable of all of this type of dolly sliders costing about 20% of some brands but the quality is still here at Glide Gear. It is amazingly heavy (which is good for stability)! It moves silky, buttery smooth. I love it comes with 4' of rail but I will be picking up some conduit pipe to make longer runs on the cheap.

This is an absolute monster of a slider that holds up my rig easily with ease! The shipping on this baby was extremely fast, too! Just in time for me to use it for one of my scenes I was filming 2 weekends ago. If you're an Indie film maker, any level, the slider and rails are definitely worth the price! This does not come with stands (which I knew) but for those looking to purchase this, just remember to purchase some solid short c-stands with two Kupo Baby Ball Head Adapters to make it extra sturdy. Regular stands won't work. Other than that, this sukker is a must!

I should say the dolly is one of my favorite pieces of kit if you are starting out, or like me, who needs the smoothness of a sturdy Dana Dolly Type set up and movement but can't justify the price of a dana dolly just yet, this is the perfect intermediary and unbeatable at its price point.By no means is it perfect, and it required quite a bit of tinkering to get it to suit my specific Needs but it now works and works really well super smooth shots. you will need an Allan-key set if you ever want to adjust the Screw Mount in the center like I needed to.
