I have a 2017 gmc sierra 6.2 v8. This part works but takes some custom rigging. So this part doesn't come with the hose to the charcoal canister or a direct fit to the vent line. HOWEVER, it can still be installed easy! First unhook the wire for the evap mentioned. There is a red pull tab. Pull it down. The press in on the assembly and it slides right out. Second. Detach the charcoal canister hose. Push in on the tab till it clicks and slides off. What I had to do is cut the connection from the old housing(evap canister)on both sides for the hoses using a wire cutter. Cut super straight and clean on the tubes and this new part comes with two double hose clamps. Super strong, so have a wrench or grip with a tool. The hose from the charcoal canister fits RIGHT into the hose clamps and makes an air tight seal super easy! Tighten it and lock it secure. The other side, the hose wouldn't come off, so I cut the old canister(evap canister line) and smoothed it out with the wire cutter. Then I cut the hose just long enough on the flat part and that flat part of the hose(the evap vent hose on the truck) and wiggled it in and using the hose clamps. It clamped right in! Plug it back in and re seat it on the holding lock under the truck! My truck runs quieter and cleaner. BTW BEFORE YOU ATTACH IT ALL. Take a air compressor, or some form of air and blow into the vent tube out. It's the hose that comes in on the right side. Not left. Not a lot of pressure but these vents collect dust. You should see dust blow out above your gas tank fill area. Thats where the vent is.So re attach the evap canister and then move to the gas tank fill cap. In the gas cap area at the top, out of sight. There are two clamps. Use a flat head screwdriver and pop them out. Reach up there from under the truck and pull the mounting bracket and vent down. You can pull them into the rear wheel well on a short bed truck and work on them standing up. Pull the old vent out of the vent hose. Wiggle it back and forth while pulling so it moves over the hose grips. Replace and push it up in the area.PRO TIP!use a t30 bit and driver and pull out the two screws at the top of the assembly, (mine was missing the bottom screw already) after unscrewing the top two bolts inside the fuel door. You can push the fill head down a bit and reach to the vent and re secure the vent this way back into the tabs. All set!!! My evap canister was filled to the brim with dust, dirt and debris. The new one in this order is almost 1.5 times the size and works great! Best of luck DIYers! Don't let someone rip you off for this part. It's very easy to install and replace. I added pictures of where I cut on the old part as well.

This part had to be modified to fit. The original hoses had to be cut off at the base of the old part and trimmed back a bit to fit into the new part. I also added tape to the ends to help the seal. Whole process took me about an hour to do. This part is bigger than the original one that came with my 2017 silverado

The main component is done from below, in front of the gas tank. Hardest part is getting the wires disconnected, so do that last. Comes with a little filter box, don’t ignore it. Not hard to replace. Two torqs screws and a clip drops the fuel filler neck enough to make this a quick swap.

The only thing I didn’t like was how to install this part.

So, I felt the need to write this review in hopes that someone else doesn’t go through what I did. First off, the three stars are because the part itself looks like a quality part however, it did not fit my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The only way this part may work on a similar truck is if you are willing to make modifications. IMO it is not worth the hassle. I purchased GM Genuine Parts 22840971 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid instead and it was the exact match to the one replaced. The repair took me about 15 minutes and I’m not a mechanic by no means.

The new canister solenoid was slightly larger than the original one on my 2014 Silverado. I just used a razor knife to cut the existing lines off of the solenoid. I was able to use three of the supplied clamps. The other one was way too big. (It was on the canister line) luckily I already had a hose clamp in my tool box. The kit comes with a new vent filter. Once I had the vent line disconnected, I used compressed air to just blow all of the dust out of the vent line. It saved me a lot of time, since the filter is a pain to get too. It was an easy job and a quality part.

2016 1500 silverado 4.3L v6 double cab 4x4. Perfect fit, slide hoses in ends of rubber hose and slide clips on. Plug wire in, which requires NO adapter.. This was a direct replacement for mine. 2 screws and a plastic clip, dropped gas filler hose and cap. Pull old filter off mount and click new one in, put hose back on. Slide filler hose and cap back up, put back in the 2 screws and plastic clip, done.. My silverado was having 2 issues.. P0446 code, and couldn't fill it at the pump. Kept popping the gas pump lever. Even at a slow trickle manually, it would pop that lever. This fixed it... Oh and the evap canister.. I took that off and blew it out with an air hose, all 3 connections.

Easy to install. The little clip that holds the connector wire in the part was hard to get off. But other than that easy install and no codes as of yet.

The connector was the same and the line going to the tank worked fine. Had to modify the front line going to the filter but I made it work. Small flat screwdriver is needed to unhook the connector. Will see if it fixes my issue
