Put very thin amount of silicone around both sides and it guarantees no leaks.

I recently replaced the filter in my 700 R4 and I purchased a kit from a reputable manufacturer that included a pan gasket. I was not thrilled that it was made of rubber and it was not cut perfectly either. I installed it anyway and cleaned and torqued the pan down to 11 ft/lbs. The rubber started to push out on one corner. I didn't even bother to add the ATF. I just took it apart and ordered this GM gasket. This gasket is closer to a thick paper gasket and goes in every GM 700 or 4L60 and I've never had problems with it leaking. It installed perfectly, torqued down just fine and seals like it should.

If all you need is the gasket this is great. But if you're going to be replacing the gasket you probably need the fluid filter kit that includes this. Don't do like me and buy the gasket separately. Now I have an extra gasket that I will probably never use. Not worth shipping it back and paying for shipping. My mistake for ordering it.

Gasket is original OEM so the fitment is exact. No instructions but make sure pan is clean and dry and bolts are torqued to exact spec. Pleased there is no more oil pan leak
