Back story for those who have the same issue I had.I have an '05 GMC Envoy Denali. One day, my shift gear button quit engaging. I could still shift through all of the gears and drive, but it locked up my ignition switch. I could also turn the car off, but couldn't pull the key out of the switch.We believed it was do to the shift solenoid sticking or just dying since it was a stock part. So I bought this to replace it.After replacing, I was having the same issues. I found out it was actually the spring and rod that engages the solenoid that was sticking, not the solenoid itself. Since I had already installed it, I just left the new one in.It has been working just fine since, I haven't noticed anything wrong while shifting gears, and shifting is smooth.It is a bit difficult to install, but only because the space you have in the vehicle is tight.In my opinion, the quality was pretty good for the price. I likely would have paid at least double if I had gone to a shop.

GM part that works great with new fasteners. Solved the problem, videos online on installation. Chock wheels and use ebrake you will have to take it out of park to remove console. I made a hooked tool to push the manual override to get the shifter to move.

The hardest part was removing my center console to access the solenoid, but it wasn't difficult. It took less than 30 minutes to remove the console and replace the solenoid. The old solenoid appeared to have soda spilled on it from the previous vehicle owner, which gummed it up. The shifter now works as it should.

The issue was the key would not come out after the car was turned off and turning the key to the off position would not release the key. This part was the reason for it or my 2004 GMC Envoy. Now the key comes out without issue.
