A lot of people delete this part with a piece of hose, I chose to replace it to keep everything original. It's a very easy install when replacing the fuel pump. The price is a little high for this part, but my corvette is worth it.

The part was delivered in an AC Delco box marked GM P/N 25094266. The unit received deviates from the picture slightly. The internal rubber component was an orange color similar to the O.E. part I replaced. Also, the item has two humps on the cover while the O.E. part has one oval hump. This aside, the part seems to function properly and fit with no special attention.Note: Application 1986 Corvette. Likely, the fuel strainer will be destroyed during pump dissasembly and need coincident replacement.
