Very stout kit comes with everything you need easy installation if you have any sort of knowledge about small engines. Has worked flawlessly for my application. I installed it on my 459 predator swapped Carter talon and fit was perfect. I did need to obtain a reverse wound spring for my application. Go power sports, omb warehouse, and bmi karts all have them. I was unable to find one from a seller on here. There are also videos on you tube showing how to properly set this unit up. Gray goat has a great one and was very helpful with explaining if you needed a reverse wound spring or not. I highly recommended this unit at this time

To get the obvious out of the way. Yes it’s expensive, no there’s no directions, and yes you do need to purchase a reverse wound spring for it. Why it even has the spring it comes with I have no idea.I’ll be honest, it’s a big jump from a little predator 212 torque converter to this. Size and price. But it’s not outrageously priced and $200 is standard for something like this. You’ll need to purchase a reverse wound spring, either yellow or green is what I recommend, from an online retailer. As for the directions it’s not as bad as you think. There’s a YouTube channel, “The Gray Goat Garage,” who has a video on this exact torque converter named ‘40 series torque converter installation.’ If you’ve ever installed a torque converter, this one is no different. But if you’re stuck or new to it, go watch that video, it clearly explains everything quickly and correctly, and tells you what and what not to do. As for the people here saying it burns up belts, I can say with high confidence that because of misalignment of the 2 pulleys or the wrong spring. How can I say that? Because I did both. But the video explains all of that and more, so overall, a pretty solid option.

The torque converter mounting plate sticks out 2-3 inches where the jack shaft slides through. this means your driven pulley must sit 2-3 inches away from the block. Because the engine shaft is so short on the predator you also cannot pull the driver pulley out to line them up. The only way this "works" is if you put the driver pulley backwards. But that is not recommended. The pulleys on the toque converter have to be installed in the same direction so that when they engage it doesn't mis align your belt causing it to get stuck, rip... etc.If your engine has a long shaft you might be able to use locking shaft collars to position the driver correctly but thats about it.The quality of this kit is not up to par for its price range. It feels and looks like a recycled 90$ chines clone off eBay.This torque converter kit was a waste of money, time and effort. I will try to re use the pulleys but the plate and jack shaft now live in my trash.

Functions properly and works well. Lack of instructions may make installation difficult, as another reviewer has said the spring in the secondary clutch is useless and totally wrong. I fortunately had the proper one. Also the primary clutch should be installed opposite of what you would expect (moving part toward engine, stationary portion away) after some debate on my end everything went smoothly and works flawlessly. Make sure to order the proper spring!!!

This torque converter is not ready to go out of the box. First of all the driven pulley is wrong, it has the wrong spring and should be ran inboard. The problem with this is now the pulley center lines don't match up at all. The fix is buying the right spring, rebuilding the driven pulley, or a heap of grinding, replacing bearings, and welding shaft collars to the jackshaft while adding spacers to the driver to get everything to line up. Absolutely not worth the ridiculous price tag. If you aren't well versed in mechanical know-how and fabrication/welding you're out of luck. Wasn't worth the headache and if I hadn't already ground the back plate I'd return it for a refund asap.

Worked perfectly, all parts where there, no directions but fairly easy to figure out. Did however have to flip the driver pully( in board, recommended for this engine) and did have to order a reverse wound spring for the driven pully to run outboard ($15 shipped of gopowersports.com) but works great 45mph holds up nice

Unless you want to chase a spring for CCW rotation. This seller has no support for spring options. Add is misleading as it shows setup for CCW rotation making one think it will come ready to go.
