The headline sums it up. Luckily I have black screws, although they are #6, so I also had to be lucky that I was comfortable drilling out the headstock to accommodate that. I'm not sure how that happened, but I did search the floor multiple times!Reusing the old slightly rusted silver-colored screw would have defeated the purpose of installing a new black "tree" on my now all-black-hardware bass.But other than that the part is perfect.

Works as described. Not the best finish on it but looks ok. Good enough for a Squire Jazz Bass.

It SEEMS good enough but the screw seems pretty short and I’m not confident it’s gonna stay for the long haul. Definitely not a standard size string retainer screw, should be at least an 1/8th of an inch longer. I could always go to the hardware store and get a longer one, but why should I have to.
