This is not only beautiful to look at, it has a wonderful tone that gets better each day. My love plays it first thing in the morning and on and off all day into the late evening hours.

It is pictured with a hard shell case NO CASE NO REPLY ? otherwise I would give it a 5 star sounds awesome

I have owned this Paul Beard R-PBSM since 8-2020. It was the last one Paul built himself and hand tuned for me. The Covid thing wreaked havoc on their production for a while. I can't comment on the ones built after that. Mine did come with a really nice hardshell case. This Dobro spends no time in that case however. I play it every day and I don't transport it anywhere. The sound is as sweet as the day I bought it even though I re-string it when necessary. I take perfect care of it. As to what type of music you can play on it or it is best for? That is an easy question to answer. What ever it is you like to play will sound just as sweet as it can be. I understand the buyers being upset with a picture of it along with a case but the description does not say anything about a case being included. The point is the quality of the guitar and how it sounds. You can buy a cheap case if you need one. It is all about this fine instrument.

I just bought this for my brother and he is in love with it! Beautiful sound, quality workmanship, etc. I saved a lot buying it from Musiciansfriends.com however. Free shipping and it cost less than $800.

I bought one of these for Christmas. Saw some youtubes of people playing them, and I had to have one. I play the blues with it. Very cool instrument. This one, the PBSM is a beautiful instrument with a very warm sound. Mahogany. It lends itself very well to the typical minor key blues I play. I use mine tuned in open D (DADF#AD), but others typically play it in GBDGBD for bluegrass. I have had a Schatten pickup installed on it, and also mic it with an old Peavey instrument mic. Sometimes I run it through a guitar multieffects pedal with a chorus effect and delay, which really expands the sound.
