The haunting overtones and harmonics produced are similar to whale singing, and this sonic effect has a powerful relaxing feeling that makes it easy to enter a state of meditation or to just help unwind. This specially formulated, small rubber mallet head measures 1"/25 mm in diameter and produces the second highest pitch of all Meinl Sonic Energy Gong Resonant Mallets (the pitch goes lower as the mallet head size gets bigger). It works with any gong size or surface type. 1) I only received two out of the set of five2) The smallest one does nothing at all and sounds horrible3) the largest one sound unique and like a whale for sure but don’t buy this entire set it’s not worth it

You're promised that it makes ANY gong sing but it doesn't. I have a 20 inch vintage gong on stand as well as a small 7 inch hanging gong and the mallet didn't work on either one. Unfortunately no singing here just another mallet.

The spheres are a good quality but unusually heavy and the 2 smaller spheres don’t really work on my gong as well as the others. The surface of my gong is pretty rough with no smooth surfaces. I thought it would help give it more of a bounce because of the rough surface but that’s only true for the 3 biggest sizes. And just heavier then what I’ve played with before.

This friction mallet sounds great on my 46 inch gong. It sounds like the low trumpet of an elephant. Listeners marvel at the tones I am able to create with this mallet. I was able to easily use it without a learning curve. Item was well packaged and shipping was fast. Thank you for a nice transaction.

I am going to preface this with the humbly-admitted caveat that perhaps my gongs just aren't big enough for this gizmo to really be worthwhile, but at ~27" and 32", they are not small either. I have yet to get anything truly compelling out of this resonant mallet, which is not at all how I feel about the e-Gong Wand or the Ollihess egg, and the only reasons I am not returning it are, firstly, I do not claim to be a virtuoso and it is possible I just haven't developed the touch for this tool just yet, and second, I think there is still a larger gong in my future... but if all I was going to use was my Dark Star, I don't know that I'd keep this because I can get all that it does and more out of the Ollihess egg. That said, I have always been satisfied with other Meinl products and it is clear that this is high-quality, so I hold out hope that it will one day reveal its true powers to me, and if it does, I will amend this review. This did not produce the effects as shown on video. I am a musician and I understand how to use singing bowels. The way you are supposed to use this is similar to that. Did not work at all. Wast of money.

This thing does work insofar as rubbing it across the face of the gong does produce the desired effect. The beater head seems to be made of an appropriate material. That said, the stick part is almost too thin to hold onto and the little "handle" tip on the other end slides off easily. You will get the desired effect but the ergonomics of this mallet leaves much to be desired. In the future, I will shop for other options.

Tengo 3 gongs Paiste y crei que estos productos cumplirian el objeto descrito en ellos. No es asi. Debo reconocer que la maza o bola grande es apenas aceptable, las demas estan en eso: de mas.Adicionalmente he de decir que bajo ningun concepto hay congruencia entre precio-calidad.estoy solicitando la devolucion.

Prodotto buono, funziona bene, unico neo è la lunghezza delle bacchette, un po’ corte e sottili, difficili da gestire nelle dinamiche più forti. In compenso rimbalzano bene e vibrano tanto.
