Omg, our living room rug was a wanderer- we have a carpeted living room and the rug we have would slowly slide throughout the day and it would end up pushed up against the wall, furniture, Christmas tree- you name it. And when my pitty girl would get the zoomies, forget about it. That rug had a mind of its own.So we tried carpet tape for a while, but that would only hold for a few days before it started its wandering crap again. And to readjust the rug, we would have to move EVERYTHING out of the living room (minus the tv and stand) so it was a pain in the butt!I finally scoured Amazon to find something that could actually help this possessed rug stay put. And that’s when I found this gripper mat thing. I was skeptical at first because I was already so defeated by this piece of fabric that was controlling my living room but I had to try it.GUYS, IT WORKED! I had my husband, step daughter, MIL and SIL over and we moved all the furniture and the rug and placed this bad boy gripper guy down. I will say, I’m thankful they were at my house when this was delivered because it would have been a task to do it with just my husband and I. Not that it’s necessarily difficult to do, but it wasn’t the easiest either. Let’s just say, the more helping hands the better!Anyway, it’s been about a month and my rug hasn’t moved an inch. I’d even say it hasn’t moved at freaking all. No adjusting or reapplying or anything. Now I’m just a regular gal with a regular rug that doesn’t move all around my living room at will. Quite the lifestyle adjustment, if you ask me. But what do I know? I’m just a regular human gal with a regular non moving rug.Buy it.

I got the 2x8 size to cut and use on two runners. It was folded, not rolled for shipping. The backing is also sticky (tacky) on both sides so you can't follow directions. You have to apply it in pieces no larger than 2x2 feet because the backing which is sticky on both sides is hard to remove, it sticks to itself as you try to peel off the backing. Stick it onto the throw rug back first, then lay that down carefully where you want it and tromp around, starting in the middle. Easy to cut with scissors. Good luck. For you woodworkers, this would make a good tack cloth. Feels and handles just like tack cloth for removing dust from wood pores.

These work wonders. I have used them on both carpet-to-carpet area rugs, and planked floors. When I experienced bad news last year that my new carpets were ruined due to "adhesive residue from carpet protectors". This made me think of the Gorilla Grip pad I had been using for abut a year in another area of the house. I was afraid that my carpet would be ruined there, too, from the adhesive. (I found out that some adhesives do not wash out) In a panic, I removed the area rug from the carpet, with the Gorilla Grip still stuck to the area rug. It came up easily. when I put my hands where the Gorilla Grip had been, there was ZERO residue or stickiness. And, it was sooo easy to remove (I'm 74 years old). NO residue on the area rug or my carpet. Great product.

My wife’s review of this product: I don’t understand how in the year of 2025, we have self driving cars but I can’t find a decent solution to keep rugs in place in a carpeted bedroom 🫠 I was really excited when I first got this product in October 2024. It seemed promising. First note, the application was not as easy as I thought it would be. Peeling the backing off and trying to stick it in place was almost comical. Once you apply the sticky part to the carpet, you obviously can’t move it. This was a problem for me because I quickly realized I had somehow shifted a couple inches off in the process of trying to apply to the carpet. It took an hour to finally get everything in place. From there, it worked GREAT for about thee to four months. But here we are in mid-February and it’s completely useless. The rug moves every time you walk on it. I’m pretty bummed and ready to set fire to our carpet 👍🏼

I purchased this item the 1st time about 5 years ago and it worked great that’s why I decided to order it again for the same carpet as after so long it was starting to shift. I received the second purchase and it didn’t seem as sticky. I put it down on the carpet, put the other area rug on top just like before (I made sure I vacuumed the carpet and area rug really well before) it didn’t stick well at all! I contacted Amazon via a phone call and they replaced it at no additional cost to me which was great of Amazon. I was anxious to get the replacement because it worked so well the first time I used it. I thought that maybe it was a manufacturing defect of some sort that perhaps they had changed the adhesive on it and that was why it didn’t work good the second time. I put it down again and it worked a little better, but nothing like the first time when I purchased it. It started to slide and buckles within weeks. Now they will do nothing this time!!It’s very easy to apply, doesn’t leave any kind of residue. And once you put it down, you don’t need to take it up, which is great. However, if it’s not doing what it’s supposed to do then it should be refunded or replaced. This last time with the holidays and everything I missed the exchange , refund/return window. While I recognize, I was a little over a month on that window, the fact that I’ve had issues with it two times out of three I was disappointed with Amazon for not taking better care of their very loyal customers!Their solution because they said they couldn’t do anything else was for me to contact the manufacturer. I’m not happy that I have to put more time into the product that Amazon is selling my having to contact someone outside of Amazon, but I guess I’m just stuck. I guess that teaches me about purchasing from Amazon in the future. And just FYI, some things take a little longer to use to find out about the quality than Amazon’s one month window.

We moved into a house that has expensive plush carpet. Our area rugs would not stay in place. We tried several underlay solutions with unsatisfactory results. These grips have significantly reduced the movement of the rug on the carpet. They are the best solution we have found so far. There isn’t really a solution for putting an area rug on a dense high quality carpet. But we’ll keep using these rug pads until we find something else.

The product itself is good. The problem is trying to put it on. I needed it for 2 hallway rugs. But it was a huge struggle trying to remove the cellophane backingand stick it down at the same time. It is easier for 1 person to try and manage it.On the plus side the rug stays in place.I have used other products in the past but the rugs have all shifted after a few weeks.
