I use small jig heads with high quality hooks to tie hair-jigs which I use for everything from large yellow perch, to smallmouth bass and relatively large trout (15" to 25"+ fish.) It's very hard for me to find heads with quality hooks with gaps that aren't too wide or narrow. These are poured on high-quality hooks. They do not need to be sharpened before use - they are very sharp. However, the hooks are fairly small. The hook gap is about 3/8" or just a hair under a centimeter. They are perfect for panfish and fishing small grubs. I prefer a hook gap around 1/2" on a 1/8 oz jig head, so these weren't what I was hoping for, but the price is right and they are a quality product. It would be great if they would offer a couple of different hook sizes with each jig weight.

I buy these jig heads for panfish, so I get the really small ones. The casting is uniform, the hooks are thick and seem to stay sharp forever, and I can't recommend them enough. They're great.

You get what you pay for... I’m a charter guide from South Louisiana, we fish mainly redfish, bought these as a cheap alternative because customers are constantly being hung up against the rocks, lost many many fish from hooks straightening out. They’re thick, but bend extremely easy. Maybe great for smaller fish or fish that don’t fight as hard, but not a good hook for 5 pound and above redfish... and just to think some redfish we catch are in the 30-40 pound range. No way this hook will compete with a large bull red.
