For about 20 years I've been on medication that prevented me from eating grapefruit. It was a sad thing for me since there is little I enjoy more than grapefruit for breakfast!A new doctor changed my medications, not so I could eat grapefruit but I thought that was a happy happenstance. So, my delight in these spoons may be colored by my delight in being able to again eat grapefruit.Right after I discovered that I could again eat grapefruit I discovered that in the previous 20 years, I'd lost my previous set of grapefruit spoons. I found these on Amazon and they were in my hands, and on my table, three days later. Grapefruit spoons make it easier to get grapefruit segments out of the grapefruit. The only easier way to eat a grapefruit is to have your butler remove the segments for you. For those of us who struggle through life without a butler, or without an adequate butler, these spoons are just delightful!One person complained that she cut her lips or tongue with the spoons. My usual way of using these spoons does not involve contact between the sharp edges and my lips or tongue. However, in successive experiments I found I was unable to cut my fingers, my lips or my tongue with these spoons in simulated accidental contact. I'm sure if I had jabbed myself, I could have cut myself, but that's not the way these spoons were intended to be used..

I've been looking for a set of grapefruit spoon, and these did the trick perfectly. They are the right size where they fit perfectly in to each little wedge, and due to the fact that they are serrated on both sides, they easily scrape out the fruit. You can't go wrong for the price. They require a little bit of extra scraping down towards the bottom of the fruit, but perhaps that isn't something another type of spoon would be able to fix either. The spoons are solid and not flimsy. Definitely purchase these if you're an avid grapefruit eater and are looking for an affordable solution.

The only thing bad I can say about these spoons, is that I'm sorry I didn't find and buy them sooner. They are so pretty.They make eating grapefruit 'so' much easier and now I actually enjoy eating the fruit. Came on time, were in perfect condition. And they were very reasonably priced. If you are looking for grapefuit spoons and your not sure whether to get these or not? Purchase them, you will not be sorry!!

I really hated sectioning a half grapefruit. These spoons work so well that all I have to do now is cut the fruit in half and put it in a bowl for serving. Breakfast just got much easier to prepare.

These are thick and strong and polished. I've had 4 different brands of grapefruit spoons in my life and these are the best. Grapefruit spoons are the easiest way to enjoy this fruit without wasting time cutting sections or peeling Just slice in half and dig in!

The actual spoon itself is great but the packaging is not so great. After receiving the spoons and unpacked them we noticed that there was stickers on the back side of the spoons. Trying to remove the stickers was time consuming and annoying. After the sticker came off it left all the adhesive on the spoon. Had to soak it in alcohol to try to get the adhesive off and still then had to scrape it off. Took way too much time.

Not only is this good for grapefruit sections, it does very well in scooping out melon pieces from the rind, and any other fruit or vegetable that has to be separated from a thick skin. Also comes out perfect from the dishwasher!
