I have liked these in the past, but not only is the packaging different, but they feel different in the hand. Even worse, I had my guitar professionally set up with these about a month before recording. A few days before recording, I swapped the strings out and one saddle crumbled to pieces without the string holding it in place. I am out the cost of a pack of saddles, the cost of set up, and wasn't able to record with the guitar I wanted.

never used before one saddle was cracked but I don't think there was any improvement in sustain, I don't normally break strings so I am not impressed. would not recommend

I use Callaham bridges on all of my guitars. The bridge itself is quite a bit brighter than the crap zinc that comes stock on all Les Pauls, so these helped mellow out the tone and also make the strings seem more even in volume. As others have reported, the holes are tight, so I used a small vice to hold the saddle steady while inserting the screw. I also ran a tap through the threads which brought out quite a bit of shavings and that helped them fit perfectly. Don't blow it and try and force the screw through, you'll regret it. Otherwise, definitely worth the cost, they sound great.
