I'm new to this composting thing. I've been doing it for about a year and a half, and I have not had much success. I live in Phoenix, and I think it just gets too hot in the summer. I mean, you got this big black container sitting in the direct sunlight when it's 115 outside for an hour, it's going to cook whatever is inside it. I'm just as likely to get ash as I am to get compost.I didn't get usable soil in 30 days from this product, though I made more progress in 30 days than I had made in the previous 500 days. I give it 5 stars for that. It's quite possible that it was still just too hot in September, as it was much hotter than normal. When it got to 115 last week for a couple of days last week, I just figured I would have to reapply.. I'm trying a different product on the other side.On the older side, it is specifically the grass clippings that have composted nicely. That's what I need, as I need a nitrogen heavy mix. There's a bit of thatch and a lot of leaves left. Nothing else is identifiable.

I have a new metal raised plant bed. I filled it with leaves and sticks, stomped it down, filled it to the brim again. I mixed up these tabs in water and poured them over the leaves, covered with some top soil and let it sit until spring ( approx 3 months ). I planted tomatoes in the bed and they are growing very well. That tells me the leaves composted nicely and are good organic matter for the tomato roots.

I mix one packet with 32 oz. of water and 10-15 drops of Lavender Essential Oil. I use it to spray on the wood pellets on my trays underneath my Quail cages in my bird aviary. The trays stay odorless for twice as long and the Lavender is calming to the birds. It’s also a good cleaner for dissolving the bird droppings from the splash guards or feeders. I don’t have to be concerned about it harming my birds. Then when I dump the trays it will compost the contents.

I purchased this because I have a bin for my grass clippings, and I wanted to see if it would help the clippings break down faster than normal. It seems to work a little. I followed all of the directions on the package regarding how to apply, watering the compost pile and turning it over, etc. It is not working as fast as I thought it would, however it is working.

I have been using this for about a year now and just bought my 4th pack. About once a week we take food scraps from watermelon chunks to egg shells and other vegetables and put in a compost bin with dirt. Use one packet mixed with two gallons of water and pore over the new batch. I turn it over in the dirt. By the time the next week to add more, the old batch has done its job. To be honest I think it breaks down all the scraps completely in 3 weeks or less. We live in Arizona so our warm temperatures may help aslo. We are constantly adding the compost into or garden. I will buy again. This really does make black gold fast.

Perfect to get things moving. Use cardboard in cd/dvd/credit card and paper shredder and leaves, coffee grounds, twigs, egg shells, veggie scraps and this stuff helps to quickly get your new compost started. Easy to use. Provides value.

It did speed up breakdown of compost. It was not within 30 days. More like 60-90 days. It was better than 6 mo ths plus gor traditional compost. However, even better results with vermicomposting and/or bokashi methods.
