  • The Crampon Safe case stows your crampons in a safe way.
  • It protects the content of your rucksack from the sharp points of your crampons.
  • Solid reinforcement on the bottom near your front points.
  • Wide opening with two zips and easy fitting through the big gate.
  • The front mesh allows transpiration and helps the drying of your gear.

It's a proven fact that crampons and down jackets do not get along when put in a pack together. You can either invest in a nylon patch kit, or you can get the Grivel Crampon Safe. Besides eliminating holes in your parka, this crampon pouch also includes a vented top to let your 'poons dry after a day on the ice.

Glad I finally made this purchase. Fits my crampons nicely. Seems like it will be easier to throw in my pack or hang from the outside. Seems like good material and I like the grivel logo.

Fits my crampons great. Always just wrapped my crampons in my gaiters but this is nicer even if it weighs a little more in my pack. It will protect my pack as wel

It's a little pricey but overall a nice bag and place to store your crampons.

I like it; looks great; but it is too expensive. It is kind of luxury - one can find some free solutions for storing crampons...

My crampons did not fit in this bag. Took a chance on them for the price, what a disappointment.

This case works well to protect the other items in your pack from your crampons. But, not much better than just wrapping the crampons with your gaiters. But, there are a few things I would suggest and improvements in design.- The screen for venting the wet crampons works well to dry them, but allows the pointy bits to stick out of the case, defeating the purpose. A piece of balistic nylon behind the screen would fix this and not add much weight.- I like to compress my crampons down and removed the rubber accordion bit on the center bar of my Grivel G12's to save space. The safe does not easily compress down to the smaller crampon configuration.- When winter moutaineering a cardinal rule is that you leave all sharp things outside your tent. So you are always outside when you put your crampons on. Releasing the velcro from the end of the safe is difficult with gloves on, I found I had to unzip the bag and pull on the velcro tab, which in windy conditions means risking losing the safe. I will be tethering the center of the zip loop to the velcro tab to solve this problem.
