These screws are thin enough to prevent most Material splitting, while providing sufficient strength to a secure installation. The washer head design presses flush against any material surface. When I need the best fasteners without any second guessing on quality: GRK’s are the first choice. I’ve installed literally over ten thousand of various GRK screws, with many of them being the RSS and the cabinet style fasteners. I use size ranging from 1-1/2†to 3-1/8†cabinet style, medium size #8s, #9’s and #10 deck-style, 2-1/2†to 12†structural screws. Always pleased. Comes at a premium on first cost. Saves me time and heartache with no second guessing on strength of hold and ease of application. Cry once. Never cry again.When appropriate (price or availability), I also use WoodPro and PowerPro screws as closeseconds. They have similar qualities, although are not always less expensive.
