Super easy to use. They work very. I've grommet-ed many grommets with this. I am SUPER please with the purchase. I would buy these again!

Works great. But I was only using on a tarp. It was fun. I believe it will work well with a thicker fabric. Sturdy. Just pay attention to how you load it.

I bought this to repair a carport that was damaged by wind. The originally grommets tore out. I used this and it's holding up as expected.

I love that you just have to mark out where you want the grommet. You do not have to put a hole in the material on which you are installing the grommets. I needed to add almost 50 grommets to some rip-stop nylon curtains for my gazebo. I tried punching the hole in the fabric and then using a hammer-type grommet installation tool. It was a disaster. When I got this tool I thought I would still have to punch a hole in the fabric and then position this tool over the hole and squeeze the grommet on. Imagine my surprise when I tried to just mark where the grommets needed to go and then center this tool on the mark and squeeze - the hole is punched and the grommet is installed - all with one squeeze!Woot, woot. The 50 grommets took no time at all!The tool comes with a bunch of silver and gold grommets - just my luck I wanted black for the black curtains. The grommets I used were marine grade and brass with a black finish. The tool has magnetic heads to hold the grommets so I had a little bit of a problem until I tried a little stencil spray on the upper head. The bottom part of the grommet stayed in the lower half pretty well. If you use the grommets that come with the tool they will magnetically be held. One last little issue. Rip-stop nylon is not easy to punch a hole in. Some of the punches left the little circle still attached but it was easy enough to cut off. It was still way easier than punching the hole first.I wholeheartedly recommend this tool.

Super disappointed they rusted after a day in board shorts. Maybe bought the wrong kind. But FYI in case you are using them in something that gets wet- like a shower curtain as pictured. The device is very difficult to squeeze for smaller hands. I need to look for a better one.

Depending on what you're doing, it should work if you only need to install grommet on a single layer of fabric. For slightly thicker fabrics, it won't cut cleanly. Also, there seems to be an accuracy issue where the pliers can't squeeze the two parts of the grommet together parallel to each other, which causes one part to deform under force first and then be pushed to the other side. Also, the upper and lower surfaces of the pliers do not reliably align. These problems resulted in a part of the installed grommet being punctured or excessively deformed, having a rough surface, and not being reliably held in place. There seems to be some screws on the product, but I'm not sure if they are adjustable for alignment and parallelism. Here you can see a failed installation.
