I bought an eyelet tool for banners a couple of years ago. I used it a few times. The very first time I used the other one, I discovered that the punch tool to make the holes was hopelessly dull. I gave it to my husband who sharpened it and uses it for gaskets in the garage. The pliers were very hard to compress and the lower eyelet would set at an angle while I was trying to use them. I ended up cutting the hole the first two times with an Xacto knife. Then misplaced the original tool. I ordered this Imlike eyelet tool that looked very much like the first one I had. Right away I discovered that the punch tool from the Imlike kit is razor sharp and works so well! Then I discovered that the pliers work with very little effort and crimp the grommets effortlessly and perfectly. Today I ran across my old eyelet tool that I'm going to give away. Here's two pictures of the top and bottom of the grommets on a banner I made.

I recommend this tool for gromet holes, it works very well and hasn't failed in making the gromet holesin a cloth bag so far. It's a great tool for the price.

I bought this to add grommets to a clear tarp that I bought. Very easy to use and seems to be well built. I think it came with 200+ grommets, so it’ll probably last me a lifetime!

This grommet plier set is easy to use and works great. The only thing is I would like to ahve a slightly more robust grommet ring, but it works fine for my needs.

This set is awesome. I watched a couple of videos on YTube to learn the steps, then set my first two grommets through six layers of fabric without coming close to straining the tendons in my hands. I didn't grip the pliers in my hands to squeeze it shut, instead I leant down on one handle while the other was resting on a carpeted step. If you are having problems getting the punch to work, try putting your scrap wood directly on concrete. Initially I used a light hobby hammer on a cutting board on carpeted wood flooring. Nothing was getting punched even though I was hitting hard as I could. Once I switched to a framing hammer on wood on concrete,, it punched through no problem.
