Ok, we ordered one and returned it thinking it was broken. It didn't have the threads on the screw hole so we were unable to tighten the lyre on the clarinet. The problem was just that the screw was in the wrong side. Take out the screw and stick it in the opposite direction and it works fine.Next problem is that the lyre isn't straight. If you look at the picture you have the ring that hooks onto your clarinet, then a washer (for lack of a better word) and then the actual lyre. There are 3 main pieces. If you loosen the washer and then retighten the ring you can eventually line up the lyre and ring so it's straight.Sturdy lyre, works great.

We purchased a Grover-Trophy Clarinet Marching Lyre and the item fell apart during the first time using it at a performance. The product was handled with care and was not dropped or bumped to become damaged. The one star review is for the product itself. The one we received may have been defective. The top pieces should be one piece and not two pieces attached by metal screws. The ring at the bottom that is adjustable worked fine and we had no issues with that section. See pictures where the damage was and lost screws. The company that sold the item is a FIVE STAR company! The company was MusicGiftsPlus. The customer service was excellent from the personal note, business card, and small gift that came with the lyre. I appreciated their prompt response to my questions and they were quick to provide instructions for the damaged product and a full refund. We went with a different lyre but ordered from MusicGiftsPlus again. I hope this review provides helpful insight.

Ordered this after teacher instructed parents to purchase a lyre for marching band. Found several on Amazon but YouTube video instructions seemed to suggest this type of hoop with one screw as the usual on to use, where it fits over the metal brace on the main piece. Got this one via prime to make sure it fit and it does perfectly as seen in pic. The 2 screw one seems to have issues impeding keys and the open prong one did not fit at all, as was likely for trumpet anyway.

I got this one because I didn’t want one with rubber on the clip. I put mine in the middle of my clarinet so one with rubber wouldn’t fit. Everything was fine with it but once I put it on and was at band before I took one step to march it fell to the ground. I was not abusing its use in anyway but it just simply didn’t get welded right.
