Sticks measure approximately .25 inches (.635 cm) in diameter. Because it is a natural product, sizes may vary slightly. Pack of 3 sticks. Made in USA. Since 1905, Grumbacher has been a brand trusted by students, professors, art conservationists, and professional artists throughout the United States.

I love to use these to draw on for my art projects. I can erase easily with out leaving any markings on canvas. Great product. Chalk pens do not show up always. And charcoal pens leave markings.

I used this set of charcoal for a portrait I did for a friend. They blend well, have good pigment (for a vine charcoal), and last a surprisingly long time. They do break easily, but that's to be expected for this type of charcoal. Planning on buying more once mine run out!

As a beginner I found these difficult to use possibly because I began my artistic journey by sketching with graphite pencils. When I branched out to charcoals I had a hard time using vine charcoal. These are very soft and I had to adjust to a more fluid style of drawing/sketching. I still prefer a charcoal pencil but I’m hoping with more practice vine charcoal can become part of my repertoire. I think they are perfectly fine quality.I used them in these drawings at the very beginning to sketch out the shape and shadow.

I used these for an introductory art class and they were great. There were plenty of pieces included and are high quality.

so i bought these for an intro to drawing course, no experience using vine charcoal, and was expecting something close to regular charcoal sticks, however that was not the results. these are (as the should be) for light shading and soft type of effects. the stick is so frail and snaps right in half all the time so it ends up just being little tiny pieces. but we haven't gotten to the part of class where we are introduced to using vine charcoal so once i learn proper techniques then i'm sure my perspective will be less negative.

I love this product but it was broken into pieces. Not worth trying to return. Perhaps I’ll try to order again someday. I’ll make use of what I can.

This product claimed to be soft vine but it wasn’t soft at all! This was for a workshop and didn’t realize that it wasn’t until the teacher gave me a stick of hers!! Totally different! Hers was so soft and easy to use! This one not so much!

Soft and rich black. You barely touch the surface. It glides on like liquid almost. So easy to maneuver and easy to erase.
