My boots had been feeling uncomfortably tight around the instep and toe box, which was upsetting since I had purchased them for both daily use and for special events. I had purchased them for both of these purposes. The fact that my feet are typically on the broader side was something that I failed to recognize, and these boots simply could not accommodate that fact. I believe that it was my own fault. During the course of my hunt for a solution, I came across these adjustable ones, which were designed specifically for those like myself who have feet that are both bigger and have a higher instep. I made the decision to give them a go since it seemed like just what I needed at the time. As soon as I removed the stretchers from their packaging, I was struck by the solid appearance of the stretchers. My impression is that the build is sturdy and well-designed for usage on a regular basis. The materials give the impression of being long-lasting, and the mechanism that allows you to alter the breadth and length seems quite safe. I saw that the handle that you crank to extend the stretcher has a nice grip. This is one of the details that I noticed. When you are attempting to gradually alter the width inside of a boot that is so tight, even something as seemingly little as that might make a significant impact. In order to determine how effectively this product will work on both boots, I began by applying it to one of them before going on to the other. Before inserting these stretchers, I used a specific leather conditioner to carefully damp the insides of my boots. Although I've read that some people simply use ordinary water, I made the decision to be especially delicate with my leather since I wanted to protect it from damage. Afterward, I positioned the stretcher inside and began twisting the handle of the vehicle. Because the instructions suggested making improvements gradually, I made an effort to avoid rushing through anything. It is not an instantaneous procedure; leather needs time to relax into the new form. I believe that this is an important point to make since leather is hard. At the initial setting, I kept the stretcher inside for around twenty-four hours. After that, I gave the handle a tiny turn and left them for another twenty-four hours.

Bought these boot stretchers to stretch out my new Justin Roper Cowboy Boots. I have a 11E Foot and I always order the 11D because Justin doesn’t make a 11E boot. These boots will kill your feet trying to break them in without a boot stretcher.I have been stretching these boots for about a week and alternating them every 2 days just like the manufacturer recommends. Just take your time opening these up. It is just pop riveted together and the stretching device is only made of plastic.I have been able to open them a little bit more each time I switch them out of the boots. It’s kind of tricky to do because it’s a cowboy boot. So what I do is slowly turn them with your hand inside the boot and keep moving the spindle that is horizontal with my fingers slowly and then you won’t break the top attachment spindle.Seems to be working great and I tried them on yesterday and a lot of the hot spots around the top of the foot and sides are almost completely gone.Like I said they might be cheaper then the rest but they seem to work better than others I have tried in the past.Use you fingers inside the boots to relieve the pressure when you are unscrewing them. Haven’t heard any cracking of plastic or anything. Never used the black bunion piece that came with the kit. Looks like you would have to use some type of super glue to get them in place to be permanent. All in all it’s a good buy for the price and they seem to work great. 5 Star Seller here âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸

I was able to use this item to stretch my boots. I am happy with the results. There was a learning curve; not all attachable knobs had clear placements, so I had to ask for directions. that worked out. Good Luck!

Using these on a hockey boot, one big problem happens. The handle that you turn is held by a friction collar and once there is some resistance to turning, the handle starts slipping in the collar and won't turn the expansion mechanism any more. There is a pin set in the collar that is supposed to provide the friction, but it's not a screw of any kind so it can't be tightened to prevent this slipping. Maybe for most shoes/boots this is not a problem and people don't need to tighten and expand it that much but for stiffer boots this limits their usefulness. I heated the boot and got some expansion so hopefully it will be enough for me.Correction: apparently there was actually a pin to secure the handle in it's collar but that pin sheared so now the handle spins in the collar. I'll try drilling out the remaining pin-end and replacing it with something. Other than this problem, I still like the stretcher, it did help a little with punching out the boot.

Terrible quality, tried to use it once and it broke almost immediately. Finagled it to possibly work, it didn’t help stretch the shoes at all. Absolutely awful.

So these work and are great. I used on a used pair of vintage Frye boots I got for a killer price. They were crushing the top of my foot, too painful to wear. These stretchers work IF you use a boot stretching spray and do several rounds of stretching. Also, these won’t change the size of the shoe much if your toes are being crushed. These created just enough room that my foot wasn’t in pain and they are wearable. I will also condition the leather to soften it up a bit.
