I have had a medical condition for forty years that requires I sleep in hearing protectors; earplugs and I are not friends. This beats all the pairs that I've worn out, with respect to the auditory range occupied by air conditioners and electric fans--I have to take them off to tell if the appliances are running (and my AC sounds like a freight train). Not so good for helicopters, which I get a lot of, but pretty decent for jet skis, which can get to within 200 feet of my bed. Their slim profile is far more comfortable than most. They can be a little difficult to unfold, and they are easier to knock off when working outdoors than some competing brands, but frankly, I prefer them to all the major brands I've tried including Peltor, American Optic, and Crosman.Postscript: Many months later, still working and in good shape. I have found that buying a nice pair of very soft socks and folding them over themselves halfway, then slipping them over the ends of the hearing protectors, makes it far more comfortable than having plastic against the ears. It actually augments the sound resistance, and it protects the soft plastic of the ear pads. I guess if one were going to the gun range, one could use camo socks. The de facto covers can be washed as often as needed, too.

These fit various size heads. And they block out noise. Pretty much perfect for the price.

I really like these for shooting; however, I work as a lineman for an airport and it offers not as much protection as other options. I really like how slim they are and how easy they fold up. Again I know they are not meant for this work as they are “noise reducing.†I figured I would put this review down for anyone who had this in mind for lineman work.

I like that they were comfortable and had amplifying noise. It did help with loud noises, shot a 12gauge 9mm, and AR. I noticed it was a little bit loud when I was only using the ear phones (no ringing of ears though), I couldn't tell if they actually dampened at a certain decibel, but they did help my overall hearing when ear plugs and head phones were on with sound amp half way. I could hear myself speak and others, no problem. I feel these are just extra protection to your ear plugs while allowing your hearing to be amplified.

I'm going to go ahead and agree that these aren't good for the range, though with the caveat they aren't good for the range when they are turned on. That seems backwards. I bought them thinking that I could hear sounds under a certain level, but everything else would be filtered out. When I turned the noise canceling feature on, range sounds were much louder. When I turned them off, it was softer. At this point, they are just some expensive regular muffs.

First time reviewing something in a while. These aren't worth 1$ much less 17. At least not the pair that I received, it might have been defective. There was almost zero difference between these being on, and not having them on.First thing I did after putting them on was snap. This was heard clearly, in fact might have been even more crisp, less dull than normal, but definitely no sound reduction. I asked my girlfriend to talk to me from across the room, maybe 18 feet away, and heard her clearly. I read the questions, and someone answered that they reduced by -7/2 so by like 8 db. Which is nothing on something that says 34. I started thinking maybe that's just how all of them work, but thankfully I bought a box of 33 db NRR reducing in ear ones, and tried those on right after. The difference was astounding. I felt the vibrations up my arm of my snap, but no sound. Girlfriend from across the room was inaudible at normal talking tone, and had to get to about 3-4 times her normal volume to be heard as a muffled sound barely audible. The gucho pair offered zero noise cancellation, to the point that if someone who is unknowing in regards to these devices (like myself), were to buy them, and go to the gun range, it would be quite hazardous to their ears. This product needs to be tested before being sent to customers, and defective models pulled. They are fairly comfortable on the ears, but with the lack of any noise cancellation whatsoever, should be seen as more of a safety hazard than an aid to prevent hearing loss.

These are a great product for the price they are comfortable and fit right. The sound reduction is pretty decent for affordable hearing protection
