I should give It 4 stars bcz the green rod comes out. I did see that on another review or two also, it can be glued back in just haven't done it yet. But other then that my daughter loves to play with them I do child led learning with her and she is both an auditory and physical learner so we use these many different ways. She counts the rings and will say the number painted on the toy below the rod and will say the colors. I also painted numbers and cups and she will use the rings to drop in them as well. I will take away ring(s) of a number and hide it when she isn't looking and when she notices one or two are missing she will say I'm missing one I only have 3 I need four, or missing two I only have, or she will say I'm missing the red one I have no more red ones left (showing a basic math rule 1-1= 0...etc , It is a multi use toy that we have fun with in many different ways with out her knowing she is learning adding subtracting or any other math facts. She is 2.5 yrs old and one is never to young to start learning math.

Of all the toys that my daughter got for Christmas, this is the one that she plays with the most! She is almost 2 and we have to take it away and 'hide' it for awhile when she decides that she has to put the rings into her mouth. The rings are large, so I doubt she can actually swallow them, but I would rather be safe than sorry.I gave this 4 stars, because the pegs are starting to come out. They are glued in and not screwed into the base piece. While it's not a big deal to glue them back in ourselves, you would expect that the toy would last longer than a month before you need to doctor it. The blue peg came out on Christmas morning, and yesterday (about a month after Christmas) 2 more pegs fell out).

The tallest peg is loose and it is confusing to my toddler to have the 1 and 2 peg and bead colors be so similar (mine are red and orange).

My 18 month old son loves this counter set. He can use the beads for so many other things too, like playing in the kitchen and using them as 'food'. Our 4 year old neighbour comes over a lot to play and she loves this set too. It's well made, the pieces are big enough that I don't worry about my son chocking on them, and the paint hasn't chipped off after almost 3 months of heavy use.

Awesome toy! Great for my toddler. The beads are a great size for her hands and the pegs are spaced out far enough for her to manipulate the beads.

Bought for 18 month old grand-daughter. This is her favorite toy. The rings are the right size for her hand, but not a choking hazard. The base could be a bit wider - it falls over - but she doesn't care. This toy will grow with her. She is able to put rings on pegs right now, but will also be able to learn colors, counting, and numbers. Very sturdy and well made.

1 year old loves to take pieces off. I assume someday she will like to put them back on. I bought it as a stacking toy that could grow with her and teach her to manipulate, sort colors, and count all in one.

Purchased this toy for my work with young children learning colors, numbers, and developing fine motor skills. Well crafted and very durable. First set that arrived was defective. Company was very easy to work with and a replacement arrived in days.
