As a female who frequently does various DIY and home remodeling projects, I need a very well-fitting, reliable particulate/vapor mask. More challenging, I need one to fit a smaller than average (even child-like size) head & face.I purchased the size “S/M†Eclipse and am thrilled! It’s a perfect fit w zero air-escaping!It’s even relatively comfortable to wear while sweating in hot/humid conditions for up to an hour. The replaceable filters remove very EASILY for mask cleaning & sanitizing (a good sink-dunk w bleach & vinegar) yet, they “seat†so well in the mask that I feel completely confident of their effectiveness. I’M INCREDIBLY PLEASED WITH THIS MASK!!! I don’t often write reviews. However, over the past 26 years I’ve tried a plethora of particulate (N-95+) masks -in various sizes & shapes, both disposable & non - all with great frustration. To finally find a mask that BOTH WORKS AND FITS is wellworth sharing!

The Elipse respirator is a small alternative to the other bulky respirators. It's compact but it fits over the nose and mouth comfortably. One way breathing valve allows for free exhaling while the filters allow for easy inhaling. Filters are super easy to change and the cost of the filters is reasonable.I wear glasses and always had a problem with the bulkier respirators sitting too high on my nose, the Eclipse sits lower and allows my glasses (or in some cases, safety glasses) to sit in their natural position. This is a great product. I love to do woodwork but I'm allergic to saw dust (I know, go figure right). This respirator filters out even the smallest dust particles and allows me to work with the wood without the sneezing, sore throat, coughing or runny nose I would get without it.

Great respirator for a great price. Fits easily under my welding hood. After two months of welding and grinding almost every day, (5 hours a day or more) the filters are still good. Absolutely disgusting on the outside, but still clean on the inside. I guess that's how you know its working. Duster gas or an air compressor works well to clean and prolong the life of the filters. I find the nuisance odor filters to be worth the extra cost because they do a better job of blocking out all the nasty fumes and smells. I would recommend the M/L size for any adult. The S/M is a bit too small for my face and does not seal perfectly. These things also break down with little effort and can be washed. I know tons of welders that use these masks, and everyone loves them. Highly recommend!

I haven't yet tested the mask in an environment where I can tell if it filters effectively, but I can talk about the fit for now (which was something I couldn't find any information on within Amazon or on the GVS website). I am a 5'7" woman. I probably have an average, to slightly smaller than average, sized head and face. The mask seems to me to be a bit small, but workable. I find that when I wear it with the bottom slightly under my chin, which seems intuitively correct, the plastic rings inside of the filter sides really press into the sides of my mouth. When I move it up a bit higher (with the bottom of the mask exactly lined up with the tip of my chin so that it really sits on the front of my chin), I don't feel them as much, but then it's a little harder to move my mouth for talking. It helps overall to make sure the straps aren't super tight, but then I'm not as certain of the seal (though it seems to be okay). It would really help if GVS provided a graphic that showed exactly where the bottom and top of the mask were supposed to be relative to your chin and the bridge of your nose and told you how to measure for fit. I get exactly 5" when I measure from the tip of the nose piece to the bottom of the chin piece on the mask.Other observations: The mask seems sturdy and well built. It is pretty comfortable, but not so easy to talk with it on (both for mouth movement and it sounds muffled, which one might expect, but I was using a 3M N95 filter before which is easier to talk with). The nose piece can start to make the bridge or top of your nose sore after a while depending on how much you tighten it and where it lands (if I move it all the way up to where glasses would sit, it's less pressure over time, but again, the chin doesn't feel quite right then). It does have a plastic smell... hopefully not unhealthy to inhale in its own right!I tried calling GVS customer service to check on how to wear and whether this is the right size for me. When I called the main US number, it said to press 2 for customer service. When I did so, I got silence. I may try to call again and get some other extension. I did so successfully once before when I was trying to understand the different between this and the 451 mode., it's just a hassle to try to navigate through. By the way, for those deciding between the 449 and the 451, I was told that they provide all the same protections except that the 449 also filters out odors because the filter is charcoal backed. When I ordered, the 449 was cheaper than the 451, so it was a no brainer to choose that one.

I have been waiting for this type of dust mask for years! It's small, seals easily and it's light and comfortable to wear.It may not look it but it is a sturdy, industrial, fully approved dust respirator.

I’m on the small side (5’3â€), and ordered the S/M which fits fine. I’ve tried many masks (I do lots of yard work) and this mask is by far the most comfortable I’ve ever worn.. My glasses don’t fog, I can wear it for extended periods of time…it’s just really comfortable. I am so glad I found out about this mask, from a YouTube video.

I was on the borderline between sizes and figured it was best to go with the S/M so there wouldn’t be gaps in the fit. Turned out to be too small so I ordered the M/L thinking I could return the small one but didn’t realize you can’t return this product. It’s not stated anywhere on the listing. Now I’m stuck with a respirator in perfect condition that I can’t use. Size up if you’re on the borderline! Great mask otherwise - wish it had a quick disconnect on the neck strap. Knocked off two stars for that and the return policy…

Looks good, nice fit especially for a smaller face, pretty comfortable and does not obstruct vision. Compact and not bulky like other brands. Filters are slim and tight to mask and do not extend beyond the mask to much. Happy this mask comes with P100 filters instead of P95 filters - a bit more protection in the P100 filter. Excellent amount of closure around mouth, nose and chin. Came nicely packaged and ready to use right away - no assembly of filters and just minor adjustment of straps to fit your head.

Where I live the people above me smoke (ALOT), the neighbors in the apartment buildings on either side of me smoke, and sometimes the odor is so strong it wakes me up in the middle of the night. These charming, but old, buildings have poor insulation and ventilation. My landlord is pro-smoker's rights. In desperation, I bought this mask, and it works! Not super comfortable straps, and it's a bit pricey, but it really lowers my stress.

Very happy with this product. It is very comfortable. Fits really well and is much smaller then the mask I previously used. Its small and easy to store and the filters are easy to change. Quite happy with this purchase.

I obviously received a air mask that was returned by a previous customer. It is incomplete missing filters I was extremely disappointed that this was even shipped out.
