Finally, I found my holy grail recessed LED lights. The selectable color temperature, the "dim-to-warm" option, the quality of the light emitted, the sturdy and attractive housing, and ease of installation are all fantastic. I am very particular about lighting quality and previously enjoyed halogen lights for their clean-but-warm aesthetic. When we moved to our new house, all the recessed retrofit LED lights were a big-box store brand with a fixed 3000K light temperature: they were so stark and even worse when dimmed. What a difference these new lights by Halo have made. In rooms where we have dimmers installed (we have the kind that support both incandescent and LED), we have these lights set at "dim-to-warm," which goes from 3000K down to I believe 1800K. The dimming is smooth, and you can really customize your light intensity and warmth -- probably the best lights I've ever had (even better than my previously-loved halogens). The light quality is both clean and warm. In the rooms where we do not have dimmers installed, we have the color temperature set at 2700K and it is just right. I am so glad that we found these - they have really made a difference in quality of life, from working at home to cozying up in front of the TV with the lights turned down to a low, warm light. My husband and I installed the lights: easy to do. One note about the black foam ring: in some of the packages, the foam ring was folded or bent. Don't worry about that: just bend it back into place and you'll be fine. P.S. We tested three other brands, all color temperature selectable to 2700K -- none even came close to the light quality of the Halos, especially when dimmed. I'm attaching a photo of the light dimmed all the way down. 100% recommend.

I installed 2 lights in my master bathroom shower area.Pros:Very easy to install. I do a lot of home repairs and this was easy for me.The color adjustment is nice to have. Some spouses are picky.Cons:They look like the inexpensive white plastic that they are. This is fine for my application. If you want something fancy, these will probably disappoint you.

I'm happy with these lights. We had to install the clips as the spring thingies were not compatible with the cans we had. Good directions. One of them didn't sit flush to the ceiling (two others did) so we added a bit of caulk and it looks fine now. There is a strong shadow in my pic but they look good in place. I'd recommend them. Be aware that the dimmer function only works with 3000K and lower, I plan to put in a dimmer switch later but don't currently have one. For the style of cans we have to install three took longer than it probably should have, an hour, screwing the ground screw to the box was annoying. But I like how they look now!

These lights are way better than their counterpart that requires a wifi network and monthly subscription to "WINK" to set the color of light you want. All you do is choose one of 5 discreet color settings and you are done. In this manner the color never changes even if something strange happens to your wifi network!!! I have the wifi ones as well and their color is always changing and I am constantly having to reset them.

It fit perfect and was super easy to install. The light has about 5-6 different light settings if you don’t have a dimmer before you set it in the can. Worth the extra few bucks for a name brand! I would buy again!

Finally an led that truly mimics a 50 watt halogen in a recessed can light. If you adjust the setting to "dim to warm" on the slider switch, the difference is almost indistinguishable at all settings, unlike all the other bulbs I have tried. For the full dimming range you need to change out the dimmer switch to an led compatible one. I went with the Lutron Ariadni and dialed the blue dial all the way to the left. This light emits a nice warm orange glow at the low setting but gets brighter than a real 50 watt halogen at its highest setting, while still maintaining it's incandescent/halogen hue. I've already switched my 8 kitchen bulbs out. I'll be installing these in the other 20+ cans throughout my house. Thanks Cooper HALO. You nailed it.
