My dog is definitely head-strong (husky/shephard) and this has helped redirect him and reduce his pull. It's not going to fix a strong puller by itself or be a 'magic cure' for most dogs but it is a very useful training aid. The construction is well made, soft nose and I like the extra security of being able to connect it to the collar. My dog can take it off his nose by himself, but only does so after the walks and can't get the whole thing off on his own. He's not a huge fan, but it helps to keep him under control. Not magic, but helps.2023 update... I love this thing! After 2 years of heavy use, still going strong. Only problem is the price has doubled! A family member 'requisitioned' one so I'm down to just one and foster so use it a lot. I purchased another brand (still not as cheap as this one was) and it is sooo low quality in comparison! I recently started fostering a hound who has a serious nose and pull instinct and tried many different combos (no pull harness, front strap, martingale, etc) and this one did work like magic! I still double clip her just in case, but control the nose control the hound! 1 week with this and she walks on a loose leash (unless she smells something but is controllable!)! The other one was so low quality in comparison I'm just going to bite the bullet and order another one of this brand vs trying for something else that wont compare... the details are great!

We recently relocated from Phoenix, AZ to Fort Collins, CO and immediately realized that CO has a LOT more urban wildlife (bunnies and squirrels) than Phoenix. Unfortunately our dog also realized this and was becoming increasingly distracted by the many, many critters we encountered on our walks. She was able to brace against her harness and essentially plant herself on the ground when she saw a critter, which made walks difficult to get through. I noticed a lot of people in our neighborhood use the gentle leader style for their dogs, did some research and purchased this one. We experienced an immediate and significant increase in our control over our dog with the gentle leader. Since we can gently put pressure on her nose, her face is directed away from the distractions and she breaks focus much easier and faster. We use way less pressure to direct her than with her harness, and I think since it’s on her face she also stays focused on me more during the walk. It took a few days for her to get used to it on her face (we would put it on for a few minutes at the beginning of her walk then switch to the harness, increasing the amount of time with the gentle leader each walk), and she stops to rub her face in the grass quite a bit, but it doesn’t seem to irritate her very much anymore. She occasionally gets the strap around her nose off while rolling in the grass, but because it is also strapped around her head and connected to her collar, I have never worried about the whole thing coming off. It’s a quick fix to replace the nose strap, and we keep it pretty loose anyway so she has plenty of room to open her mouth and so it doesn’t put too much pressure on her nose. Overall, we are super happy we got this and it has greatly improved the quality of our walks!

Pros: The concept is flawless and works great! However...Cons: I *strongly* suggest ordering a Size-Up. I ordered the correct sizes, and both of them are at the very end of the Slack that should have been there. There is absolutely Zero room on the Muzzle strap for adjustment -making adjustment impossible. The Neck strap barely fits and installation on the dog difficult. The Buckle material is low quality. The clip is extremely Tiny -meaning it won't last. Which is a shame, because it is intended to keep the muzzle strap on the Muzzle (when) they fight it... And they will until they get used to it.Another thing I'm not a fan of is that the muzzle strap sits so close to the eye. (Even the manufacturer photos show this. I just didn't notice.)The last thing I dislike is the Leash Ring. It may work, IDK. I can only say that I don't trust it, and I didn't use it as a Primary leash -I actually just used a ½" puppy leash. Because like the Clip; it didn't give me the sense of assurance that it won't break under Real Tension -which is probably why the manufacturer suggests using a secondary leash; which is what I did.Would I recommend it? Yes. But only if it was brand new*; and the User understood that it should Not be used as a Primary leash!* Metal of any type can have stress cracks invisible to the naked eye; and I cannot see this standing up to too much stress without being negatively effected. And I'm Not going to trust that it wouldn't be damaged.

I dropped to my knees and cried after walking my Mini Poodle with the Halti. He is 2 years old and incredibly anxious on walks. I’ve tried everything under the sun to help help walk comfortably and nothing has worked.. until someone recommended the Halti. It gave me so much control and prevented my pup from pulling to get back home or away from things he’s scared of. With a light pulse of the leash, the Halti redirects his focus to what in front of him and he has zero urge to pull. It’s incredible. I honestly can’t even understand how it works but I’m telling you it does! My poodle is 25 pounds and the size small fit him perfectly. He is not bothered by it at all, I can tell it fits comfortably. 10/10 recommend!!!
