DELICIOUS HOT ☕☕☕☕☕This little coffee maker is almost perfect. It makes good, hot coffee fast. I don't use the timer so I can't comment on that. The pitcher works fine. I think Hamilton Beach only has a couple of things to consider further with this one, which aren't really that big a deal for me so far. To address these things in a model update would make it even nicer. It needs a bigger water receptacle; the inside of the water chamber at the top where the water is poured is made in such a way that the water has to be added slowly enough so none will spill out over the sides while you're pouring it in - a minor inconvenience for me in a small coffee maker (I only make 1 or 2 cups at a time). If you have unsteady hands it could be a bigger problem for you, especially if you make a full pot every time. Hamilton Beach would have to make the opening big enough so water for 5 cups could easily be poured in with little overflow risk. The graduated water viewport would be better and easier to see if it was in front and not on the side, and made of clear plastic. It's awkward to pour the water and then have to crane your neck or turn the coffee maker to make sure you've got the right amount of water inside. The coffee maker is designed small enough to fit conveniently under kitchen cabinets and to have the water view in front makes more sense. Also with the port in front, it's a quick reminder if you like to set up your coffee maker the night before, that you already have water in. If the coffee maker was a little wider I think they'd have enough room to place a nice clear viewer in the front of a newer model - I personally have eyesight issues.Overall I really like this coffee maker. It performs very well and makes coffee very fast. I have a reusable filter basket for it I purchased separately on Amazon which fits perfectly, is durable and works fine, and is not expensive (search for 4 Cup Reusable Filter Basket by BRENSTEN, on Amazon; you can buy just one if you want).I'd tell anyone it's a good coffee maker but would explain that it still isn't perfect, but close.

I love this little thing! It has every feature I could want in a drip coffee maker and the perfect size. I have never gotten the programming feature to work but it’s just as easy to set up your grounds and water the night before and click “brew” as soon as you get up. It brews very quickly. One thing to note, most grocery store bags of ground coffee are very fine so if you use too much grounds, the water will filter through it too slowly and get backed up and you’ll end up with grounds in your coffee and a mess. The easy way to fix this is use a little less coffee per water, OR grind the coffee yourself and make sure it’s not as fine.

Update: I contacted Hamilton Beech with my complaint and they responded next day. Told me I could pick another coffee maker or other appliance from their website not exceeding my original purchase price. They would also provide free shipping and I did not have to return the malfunctioning coffee maker. So I did just that. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!Upon arrival, the clock, program and option functions do not work. They are simply "dead". Thankfully, the brew function does work and works well. No spitting, no water overflows, no messy grounds...just delicious coffee. Since it has been hard to find a coffee maker that doesn't have these issues, I plan to keep the Hamilton Beech despite the other functions not working. But I am peeved since I did pay more because of these extra functions. I don't want to return it since I am happy with the coffee brew and fear they will just send me another one with the same malfunctions since this seems to be a very common problem if you read the reviews on other store websites.

I purchased this coffee pot over 1 year ago, use it every day, with 2-4 cup coffee filters. It’s still brewing great cups of coffee, does not leak and I have no problem with the coffee filters being too big. As with all coffee pots, 1 mug is normally = 2+ regular cups. The coffee is nice and hot, keeps hot and the warmer does shut off automatically after 2 hours. I don’t use program feature (by choice) so I can’t speak to that. I recently purchased 2 as gifts. I’m very satisfied with this coffee pot, makes a great cup of coffee. I see that there are some negative reviews, but my experience has been only positive.

Pause N Serve doesn't work. Coffee kept pouring out onto the plate and counter. The numbers for setting the clock and the timer are too small and light. I had to use a flashlight and pick the whole thing up while setting the timer. Very awkward. I will contact the manufacturer.Instructions say to unplug every time, which means you have to reset the cock every time. See previous comment.Good fast coffee and nice compact design. But I bought this for the timer and pause features. I'm disappointed.

I needed to replace my small Mr Coffee, but the new 5 cup version was larger and I didn't like it. So I tried Hamilton Beach and I'm glad I did. I love the small footprint of this one. There is a less expensive model, but it's worth a few dollars more to get this model with the auto shutoff. The basket is smaller than my old coffeemaker, and the easily available basket filters (6-8 cup) are too tall. I found filters that fit, and because they're smaller, the coffee doesn't spread out as much and it makes better coffee. The only minus is that the lid of the carafe doesn't open wider than straight up. It tends to flop down when I'm filling it with water.

1.2 year update: it's leaking everywhere out of the reservoir. It's basically trashed and just past the one year warranty. Seems others have had this issue (look at one star reviews). Bummer! It was good while it lasted but not worh it if it only lasts a year or so1 year update - still great. The enamel on the hot plate is wearing off as they often do, but other than that it still works perfectly.6 month update: Still working great, while making ~3 brews of coffee a day, every day!I purchased this after a Mr. Coffee machine died after less than 1 year of ownership.Pros:Auto shut offcompact sizeeasy fill water lidWell engineered removable coffee basket (pulls right off a strong hinge for emptying - genius)Coffee basket can actually be filled with grinds for 5 cups (max pot size) without overflowingNo leakage when pouring from potinexpensiveCons:None!Highly recommended.

I received my coffee maker yesterday and I tried using it for the first time this morning. It makes good coffee but it seemed to shut off mid brew a couple of times. I had to lift the coffee pot off the burner for a second and then put it back. Once i did that, it started to work again. That happened two times with just one brew. Very strange. I love the size of the coffee maker and I love that it has a strong brew option. Very cool. But what's not cool aside from the machine not fully brewing, i hate the clock and to be perfectly honest, I cannot for the life of me understand how manufactures make these coffee machines with such small writing and such a small clock with absolutely light to view the time. It's impossible to see the time unless you stand directly in front of it and look hard. I have very mixed feelings about this machine. I will try making more coffee tomorrow morning and I'll see how it performs. Not so sure I'm going to keep this coffee maker. As i said, mixed feelings about it.
