I was getting my hamster a different type of sand before that was more like dust which I didn’t know was bad until i was looking for more and saw all the reviews! So I started getting him this one which is not like dust at all, thank goodness, it’s more like sand, a little thicker and can’t be inhaled easily. Good product!

I liked how naturally my hamster took to bathing in this sand. I did not like how difficult it was to clean things out of, or that the bag was not re-sealable. Otherwise, very high quality stuff! Would recommend over any other bathing product for hamsters!

My winter white loves to dig, poop, sleep, and eat food in the sand but wont roll around to clean herself. Despite the fact MY hamster only like to play in it, doesnt mean your hamster will do the same. It doesnt seem to bother her respiratory system(afterall I mentioned she sleeps in it). Overall its a really good value. Since my hamster plays in it I tend to go through the package quickly, but you cant be the price and the amount for a safe product.

This was the only thing we changed and our little guy has been scratching for two days. We just ordered his regular sand to go back to what worked for him. This sand is much finer, bright white (like chemically dyed?), and the sand leaves an oddly light grease on our fingers. The other sand feels, well, like beach sand. Dry and lightly gravelly. Hope this helps!

I really like this product. The sand is very fine and silky, but it is not dusty at all. My hamsters loved it! My one complaint is that it isnt offered in a larger size. I have three hamsters, and it was only enough for one dish for each of them, one bath each. For one hamster, all you would get out of it is about three or four uses.

This sand is perfect for my hamster. We think she rolls in it while we are sleeping because she always smells better the day after we put it in. Unfortunately she starts peeing in it so we have to take it out on second day. I read that the bath powder is dangerous for hamsters. But this is sand texture and appears very safe! I will purchase this again .
