We bought this bell for my 98-year-old dad to ring if he needed something. He quickly adapted to the idea, and it does the job when we are upstairs with doors closed and cannot easily hear him call. It seems sturdy, and has a good loud ring to it.

This bell has a nice loud tone considering its size. I use it in my classroom to get the students' attention during noisey activities and it always cuts through where my old "reception bell" couldn't be heard. It looks nice too.
