Nice math station for kids working on early math skills. K-2 appropriate, easy to use, hands on, engaging for kids.

This is great for math. I really liked that it taught while they had fun.I like when my kids play games because it so much better than staring at a screen. This was a very fun game for my kids. They really enjoyed it. It kept their interest. I really like that it gets them playing with others. It is great for them to play with each other or with us. We like to have family game nights. This game wasn’t too hard for them to learn. The quality was very good. It held together fine. I really think it’s a lot of fun for them. I also like to give games as gifts. I would recommend this one.

I am quite happy with this product for the most part but the pens arrived without their caps on and thus dried out, which has been frustrated by a difficulty finding out how to contact the company.

I love these kits! They are a wonderful and painfree way to get a bit of math learning into our days. We have three of them now and my children love them. It's basically games. I love that everything I need is right here in this box. I have to do no prep whatsoever, which is great. It's perfect for those rough, stress filled days.Within this kit, you get a storage box that doubles as an easel. The 10 activities are attached to the box by a spirally bound book. Each of the activities are on both sides of the easel, so that children can sit on each side of it and still be able to see. It also comes with 2 mini Rekenreks, 4 double sided dry erase boards, 4 dry erase markers, 20 number cards, 2 spinners, and a guide. This particular kit taught me the difference between a Rekenrek and an abacus. Sadly, I'd never even heard of a Rekenrek beforehand. Apparently, it's much better for younger children to learn number problems with, since it changes colors every 5 beads, instead of 10. Plus, it's usually just 20 beads total, like the ones in this kit, and great for little hands. If your child could use extra practice with adding and subtrating, or just working with numbers 1-20, this is a nice kit to try.

This Rekenrek K-2 math center kit is a nice little tool for a busy primary classroom. There are ten "no-prep" activities ready to go, complete with a glossy instruction booklet to explain the purpose. The downside is that the limits of the exercises is fairly built-in. In other words, once the kids have gone through the exercises/activities, there isn't that much adaptability for other uses from the kit.The upside is that these are very good exercises for emergent number sense and single digit addition (up to 20). There are also "write and wipe" boards that can be adapted for a few other ideas. The inclusive and portable kit is a nice bonus, too. This would make a simple to use center, ideally for 1-2 people, although up to four could use it, especially in partners. Provided the kit holds up to lots of little fingers and year-in and year-out use, it could prove a very reasonably priced tool for primary-aged teachers.

I have to admit I had not heard of a Rekenrek and at first glance I thought it was an Abacus. They are the same concept but different in method! Opening the box my oldest child was intrigued by all the items included: 10 activities in a spiral book that is connected to the box, 2 rekenreks, 4 double sided dry erase boards, 20 number cards, 2 spinners and a guide. The games do need to be facilitated by me as they don’t feel fun enough to my kids to play with on their own, but they do enjoy them with me for short periods of time so far.Overall this is a great educational set for kids to be used at home or in a school environment.

My students became quite the fans of rekenreks, myself being a fan of the tool as well. I had two major ones in my classroom that were simply fought over. This little kid became a great extra math center to help spread the love. The rekenreks are great for that 0-20 skill base, wonderful practice for my 1st graders. I love the booklet of read-to-go activities and practices, easily explained so that there was always one kid that could direct the others or self. The rekenreks were high quality, and the booklet stands up well for ideal durability for the classroom.

This has been a good set for my K and 1st grader to practice together. It gives them extra practice and allows them to work together. I also like that it gives them something to do while I am helping their older siblings with their schoolwork.
