My students use these mostly for studying circles, but they have been useful when we are short on rulers and of course are good compasses in general. As others have mentioned, I replace them every so often when either circle insert area gets worn out or writing wears off, but I used to replace the more classic compasses as often. Great product.

I was searching for class sets of compasses and decided on these. I'm so glad I did as these are the best that I've ever used in my geometry classes.Pros: 1. Easy to use. 2. Inexpensive. I sold them to my students for $1 each so they could use them for homework, as well. 3. Since they are flat, it fits in their binders well. 4. Since they're inexpensive, I don't have to stress if a few of the ones I keep in class get lost. For only about $10, I just order another dozen from time to time. Still so much cheaper (and better!) than other compasses.Cons: Nothing.

Good for art and some constructions, but maintaining a compass length is annoying with so many holes for the pencil. Even with so many, it is difficult to "open the compass" to a particular given length. I had high hopes for these being less expensive than traditional compasses, but I was kind of disappointed.Overall, not terrible, but I prefer a traditional compass.

I haven't taught Geometry in years, but when the class was added the week before school started, I made sure I purchased these lovely items! Easy to use and safe!! My students had a great time creating designs with them. They are secure and don't move around like the traditional compass.

My students and I like these much better than the stab-o-matic kind we had before that did not hold a point to point distance. These are tough to measure up and markings next to the holes would be awesome, but understand why they are not printed as such. SO much better for a school setting. And the price is unreal. Just ordered another set this week.

These are great, use them in my Geometry class. Students seem to like them. The only drawback I've noticed is that you have to remember which hole you used and as the labeling wears off that can be tricky. My students don't seem to have as much trouble as I do.

Très bien cependant j'aurais aimé connaître la signification de toutes ces lettres sur le compas (un peu plus d'informations...) et j'aurais aussi aimé que les mesures d'une règle soient imprimées sur les bords longs du compas.

I 've used these in my art classroom with kids ages 5 to 18 and prefer them by far to standard compasses. Safe, easy to use and can make larger circles than a standard compass. A constant in my art teaching practice.
