I was concerned about the hook on the end, but it hasn't caused me a problem. I love that it is a little wider and holds more thread. I am going to order more.

I prefer this style of shuttle but the hook is on the other side which requires some getting used to. The pink shuttle is my older one the purple is the one being reviewed.

This is a hook-ended tatting shuttle. The steel crochet hook end makes joining stitches easier, but as you get faster, you may prefer a point or no point at all. The thread passes between the sides of the shuttle, which are tight enough to keep it from unwinding. It's a good beginner shuttle.

Works well but I prefer the shuttles with the pick not the hook.
