The pattern it leaves alone sold me let alone how beautiful it makes your living room or any room you added to look. It’s that one little piece in your room, that would just fit.Brightness depends on light bulb, we went with warm bulbs. No flickering super lightweight so it won’t weigh down the ceiling hooks. Cheap and easy to put up and plug in.

I loved the look of this lamp and it seemed perfect to light a corner of my kitchen above a small table. When I put in a bulb and hung it up, however, I was dismayed to realize that the rattan shade doesn't really fliter the light at all - it was like looking at a naked hanging lightbulb, which wasn't at all pleasant. I was going to return it until I had the idea of fashioning a sort of rice paper "sleeve" to put inside the shade around the bulb. (It's an LED bulb that stays cool so it will be safe to use with a paper shade.) The paper filters the light and now the lamp is much more pleasant to look at. Would be great if the manufacturer included a paper inner shade with the original product, but in the meantime it's an easy DIY fix and I'm happy with this product.

My upstairs has no overhead lighting, but does have switches that control one outlet in each room, so was looking for something for over my bureau. This was smaller than I visualized from their ads, which is actually a bonus, Works great with a modern Edison style led light. The cord is a bit heavy and very generously long—it’s wrapped in an old school hairy jute? coating…and it would be nice if the plug was a flat style (more flush against the wall) since the outlet is behind my bureau. When I get around to it I will buy a flat plug and cut down the length. (Fairly simple to do)

I bought an older house with no ceiling lights. This was much cheaper and more stylish then paying an electrician.
